Recently, I am resubscribing to Netflix. One series that captured my attention after many months without Netflix was Agent Kim Reactivated. Starring by Soo Ji Sub, that draws my attention more than anything I could ever pick on my netflix.
The premise is very simple. It tells a story about an ex-north korean agent who deserted into South Korea, has a family and wanted to protect his daughter. The catch? his daughter, the only family member he has doesn't know that he was an ex- North Korean elites.
While he thought he was already living a peaceful life working at a bank. During his gathering with his buddies, he was caught on a camera and the north korean operatives caught him on social media. They thought, this agent whose known as 66 was dead but he was apparently still alive.
Somehow, the story weaves around saving her daughter and how he finally realizes that his past wasn't done.
It was interesting to me because in my view, it was about someone who tried to live a normal lives but hasn't done with his past. Eventually, it still part of him and I won't give you spoiler but the whole story teaches you that it's really hard to escape your past. It's best to embrace it whether it's good or bad because that shapes who we are as a person.
I'd recommend this one among all the recent releases on Netflix especially for K-content. This one is also recently finished, so you don't have to wait in anticipation for the next episodes.
