Around this time of year, there seems to be an abundance of berries everywhere, yet so often people just walk past them and leave them unnoticed.

These little berries will be turned into some beautiful homemade wine that should be ready in about six months. It sounds like a long time to wait, but honestly, time flies, and before I know it, I’ll have a brand-new supply of wine ready to enjoy. 🍷

Heavy and drooping, practically inviting me to pick them. I grabbed as many as I could reach but I left plenty more behind for the birds. 🐦

Now that harvesting is done and I’ve got plenty of work ahead of me! There’s always more to foraging than simply collecting the berries, but that’s all part of the fun.

And being out in the fresh air, surrounded by nature, is so peaceful and makes me slow down.

Do you forage elderberries? If so, what do you like to make with them? 🌿
