My Biggest Learning Weren't From My CGPA

Most people mistake learning to be about academics alone, going to school with books and pen,but little did they know that for everything you do not know how to do before but was able to catch up to do, has a process of learning in between. As simple as knowing how to run a simple device has to do with learning.

We learn through habits and to adjust or improve in them, we learn from our past mistakes to correct the future, we learn from our failures to become a better person and work through success. Learning means something was not there before or not really effective on it before but you eventually are able to do it perfectly.

Growing up, I've had series of things to learn about. The culture of the tribe I am born into, how to relate with people around me, how to love them wholeheartedly without being deceptive about it, academic-wise, skill-wise, local languages and so on. The part of the language even made me remember how difficult it is for me to learn French and that's probably because my mind wasn't set on it but that isn't where I am going to.

Now talking about one thing I was able to learn with ease and the one I find myself struggling with, normally I would have talked about physical things I was able to learn comfortably and the physical thing that I found difficult like in terms of language and co but I realize that the ones that has to do with our inner-self and personalities are mostly not recognized as something very important that the failure of we learning to have them means that things may not really go well with ourselves and our relationship with other people.

One thing out of all I'd say I found easy to learn was tolerating people and I don't think there's literally anyone I can't live with as long as boundaries are set in place (although not like a bad life partner o, lol). It was not something I'd say I have right from time because we all ain't born with either good or bad behaviours, but we only incorporate them gradually based on who we want to grow to become till we are perfect at it. Learning that act doesn't mean we're pretending to be who we are not but because we want to become that person with that trait and that's why there's always a hope for a bad person to change for good.

However, the one thing I would say I am struggling with to learn and be perfect at it as a personality is the ability to express myself with all totally with nothing hidden. I had always thought been outspoken covers that space until I found it hard to express myself thoroughly when something hurts my feelings as I'll always be mindful of not saying it all so that the other party does not feel hurt or offended. Like I'm being offended here or found something not right and I'm still looking out for the offender not to feel offended with my expression.

Although I know it's cool to be mindful of choice words not to hurt people even if they had offended but being able to at least talk about the details of how their acts and decsion affects me is what I'm learning but struggling with.

I am still proceeding in my journey to learn, unlearn and relearn and I think until the last breathe of man, learning takes place for us.

I'll be dropping my 🖊️ here on the Hive Learners community prompt

Wow, I must say you're doing very well. Being able to and learning to tolerate people is very hard, like.... And I can't say we're word and opposite though but when it comes to expressing myself, except if don't want to. I'm very good at it 😁 just that I'm most times quiet just so as not to prolong a matter and such.

    Thanks for sharing. ❤️❤️❤️

You know, I would have said the same thing about being capable of tolerating everyone but few years back, I discovered I had limit. There are some people you will meet and you will wonder where they crawl out from because their behavior is far from being human.

So long as the brain is still functioning, learning never stops. We learn from other people's actions, we learn from our own actions, we also learn from life, and the things we face and so on. Even when it feels like nothing is happening, lecture is on going and it is left for us to understand and learn from it.

Yes, every school must balance vocational and general subjects. Of course, the insight of people who go to school is higher. My teacher also once said that school is not for work or wealth. School is for learning things that you will not find out there and with that knowledge you can work and be rich.
