Our lives are our lives and our decisions remains our decision no matter how much we may want to tag it on influence from other parties. Be it in person or from social media space, the blame of the consequences of our actions should not be shifted but rather be admitted by us and we remain accountable for them all.
Everyone with their own intentions on social media so I don't think we can easily be influenced or pressured if that was not our intention right from time. Just like a phrase my tribe people would say that a dirty woman who lost her husband has a reason not to take her bath.
For me, I have always believe in not living a loud life to prove you're living okay and infact only an empty barrel makes the loudest noise. Funny enough how you will see real rich and wealthy people living simple and even being humble to the last core and here we are, as an average person with nothing or nothing much to prove with, having all kinds of big jewelry on, with raised shoulder pads so that we can be noticed on arrival.
The day I came about someone who was extremely rich and her appearance doesn't show the level of her wealth but from her skin, you would know that this person isn't just of ordinary caliber. Her outfits were simple but speaks elegance and her skin was out of mere description but you will see otherwise with someone who doesn't even have an original jewelry in her jewelry box.
When I am financially comfortable, comfortable enough that my assets are breathing amazing future ready for myself, children and generations through me, then i don't need to bother myself to show it because it will actually show itself and those who sees how it showed will say it.
In summary, it is our decision to be pressurized if we end up in that state due to social media. We have the power to choose and there we are choosing what we want for ourselves. Either to look wealthy or live wealthy. There's a huge difference between that.
