[Main Story - 004] "Persona 5 X" Playthrough - Baseball Dreams

Persona 5: The Phantom X is a Gacha game set in an alternate reality of Persona 5. It features an original story and a new set of Phantom Thieves. P5X blends Persona 5's presentation and storytelling style with Gacha mechanics so well, it feels more like a console game than a mobile game.

Comnpared to Persona 5/Royal, the gameplay of The Phantom X is at the same time simplified and expanded. There are way more things to do in this game, and the online aspect makes it almost endless, but that also makes it more repetivive than the original. I give full marks for the presentation and the story progression. It feels like The Phantom X is experimenting with even more ideas compared to Persona 5/Royal... Returning characters look even more stylish!!

Being a Mobile/Gacha game is a double-edged sword, though. P5X has too much going at once. I'm playing Persona 5: The Phantom X on Android device. Every corner of the screen has interactable input os some sort! The menu is full of elements that fight for your attention!! In the first few hours, I used touch input, but it was hard to control movement in dungeons and battles, so I eventually connected to controller, which made the game play better in my opinion. You'll see eventually if I upload enough videos.

This is where we inflitrate a palace for the first time, though we mostly learn about palaces rather than actually attempting to change the owner's heart. On the real woprld's side, we learn more about Tomoko and Motoha. Something happened in the past that made Motoha stop playing Baseball, so Tomoko is playing for both of their dreams.

A toching story.~

What do you think? I hope you enjoyd the video above!

You know, I have really tried a lot over the years to get into the Persona games, going all the way back to when people barely knew what it was. It keeps getting said that Persona 5 is one of the best games ever made but it really just didn't appeal to me. I'm a big fan of turn-based RPG's too. There is just something about it that I don't like, it is probably the frequent interruptions to the action for long and drawn out cutscenes.
