Most of the time, I prefer cool weather; I love the rain and those days when I can go about my daily life without dealing with so much heat and sweat. These days, however, I’m grateful when it doesn’t rain; many families—including mine—face flooding issues. While my house only gets wet on the outside (a minor inconvenience), I worry about a sweet dog I feed and care for almost daily; I think about him getting wet, even though I know he’s smart enough to seek shelter. I pray every day that God gives me the means to help all the abandoned dogs out there.

When I woke up, I fed Pandora. She was playing with Perlita—the playful one of the bunch—though Perlita doesn't usually come around that early. Then, I had a piece of bread and coffee with my husband, but not before making myself some turmeric and lemon tea. The best part was picking the lemon straight from the tree in my backyard.
