I love wide, slightly bold hairbands that lift my mood when I’m doing housework, working, or making things. It is not easy to find one with good material (cotton or rayon) with eye catching print. So whenever I find a fabric I really like, I often make one for myself.
There’s always some fabric left over, so I thought, “Why not make a few extra and share them with someone else?” That’s how I came up with the Maker Hair Band, using leftover fabric from the ones I make for myself.
Today, I finally finished the packaging 🥳 I’m joining two local markets on this Saturday and Sunday, so I decided it was time to stop putting it off and just get it done.
One of my bad habits is that I get really excited about making something, work intensely on it, and then somehow leave it unfinished when it’s almost done ... So this is also a little practice in actually finishing things and sending them out into the world.
I hope someone at the market picks one up and likes it.

私は幅広で、少し派手で、家事や仕事、ものづくりをするときに気分が上がるヘアバンドが大好きで、気に入った布を見つけると自分用に作っています。毎回布が残るので、「それなら少し多めに作って、誰かにお裾分けできたら」と思い、Maker Hair Bandと名付けて余り布でいくつか作ってみました。
今日はそのパッケージを完成させました。週末、土曜日と日曜日に地元のマーケットに参加することもあり、えいや！と思い腰をあげたのでした。
私の悪い癖は、何かを作り始めて熱中して、完成間近に放置してしまうんですよね 😅 きちんと作りきって外の世界に出してみる練習でもあります。
マーケットで誰かが手に取ってくれるといいな。
