Hello to my hive fam🌷😄. How are you guys? I hope everyone had a wonderful day! For today's blog post, I'm going to share my family celebration that celebrates the achievements of my cousin in passing the Engineering Board Exam recently. We were invited by my cousin herself to attend her kanduri😇.
For those who may not be familiar with it, a kanduri in Meranaw culture is a gathering where people come together for a meal with a special occasion, thanksgiving, or an important milestone in someone's life. And this rice is mixed with turmeric powder to give that yellow color and slight spice😋.
We arrived at around 4:00 PM because we were shy and we didn't want to got a crowded celebration lol. The place was beautifully decorated, with maroon as the main color of the celebration. But I couldn't take a photo of it because there were guests blocking it😅.
The dishes were the highlight in every celebration! In Meranaw culture, we prefer spicy foods, mostly beef and goat meat.
Everything was delicious, and we truly enjoyed the meal. I loved the lumpia the most😂. Full of veggies!
It was so nice to sit down, eat together, and spend time with our relatives. More than just enjoying the food, I appreciated being there to witness and share in my cousin's happiness. Passing the Engineering Board Exam is a significant achievement, and it deserves to be celebrated after all the effort, dedication, and preparation it takes.
And they have pasta! The cheese was so creamy and delicious😋.
They even ordered a large metal tub of mango ice cream🥭❄️.
We stayed until a little past 6:00 PM before heading home. Since our mother couldn't join us, we made sure to bring home some food for her, too. ❤️ Even though she wasn't physically present at the gathering, we wanted her to have a little something from the celebration.
