#1215 - Dimatubo Waterfalls Shots for Thursday.

Hello fellow dearest Hiveans around the world! Happy Thursday to you all. Can you believe the weekend is almost knocking on our doors? I hope you find time to check and maybe discover a great new blog to read. Sending everyone good energy and warm wishes for a truly lovely Thursday ahead❤️!

Now for our daily shots one noon time when my wife and I along with our son Joaquin arrived at the rough parking area near Dimatubo waterfalls in Aurora. The sky was gloomy that day. It was not the bright, sunny tropical day we had hoped for. Our son Joaquin decided to stay behind in the vehicle. He did not want to do the 30 minute trek to the falls. 1000006383.jpg

It was just my wife and me and hired guide which the park require, making the hike. The path felt almost exactly the same as I clearly remembered from our visit long years ago. It was still a bit slippery in some part because of the wet weather and we had to carefully navigate the trail surrounded by thick, green dense forests. The gloomy sky made the trek feel a cooler. After about half an hour, we started to hear the faint, familiar sound of rushing water and the noise of people already present there. 1000006418.jpg

But when we reached the waterfalls itself, we were quite surprised. The area was definitely not the same place we remembered from years ago. Before, the area was wide and deep which was perfect for refreshing swim. Now, there's huge stones and massive rocks sitting right in the water area. Our local guide explained that recent strong earthquakes in the region had caused landslides of boulders crashing into the pool which made the water shallow and uneven. 1000006405.jpg

Honestly, it's a bit sad to see the beautiful landscape change so much in just a few years. We could not dip into the cold water like we did before. Still, we enjoyed our visit more or less. We just sat and stand on dry boulders near the edge, then took nice photos and enjoyed the quiet moment together. It was still a beautiful spot to appreciate. 1000006391.jpg
