The world of football is still in shock with the latest announcement of retirement of the Argentine national men's football team captain Lionel Messi. The news of his retirement from the national football team filtered in and many football lovers were in shock because they had expected to see the great football icon grace the world cup one last time.
Often regarded as one of the Greatest Of All Times (GOAT), Lionel Messi cited his father's death coupled with the fact that he had given all he has to the team and football in general and the need to give fresh footballers th opportunity to come on stage as other reasons for his retirement from the national team.
The world of football will miss this great sportsman. His resilience and dribbling skills will be missed dearly. We wish him well in his future endeavours.
Arsenal produced the sort of form that is only akin to a champion. When Aston Villa appears to have stood on their way to garner the whole 3pts, Bukayo Saka showed up and scored a goal, thus giving the Gunners all three points. They now have 6pts from two games while Villa have lost their two opening games - (4-0) loss to Brighton and this loss to Arsenal.
That Arsenal win had followed their previous opening day thrashing of Coventry City (3-0). I don't see Arsenal relenting in their quest to retain the EPL title. Who will stop then now?
