Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi should be a happy man now. His fledging team has finally recorded a win. It is not just a win - it is their first Premier League win of the season.
Tottenham Hotspur defeated Coventry City at home by (3-1) to move off the bottom of the table. It was a big relief for them really.
James Maddison who haven't started a match for them since April 27, 2025 having recovered from his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), got the home team roaring in the 14th minute of the game with a perfect timed goal.
But Coventry City responded through Jack Rudoni to send jitter ls down the spins of Spurs fans when he scored few minutes after the restart of hostilities in the second half at about 49 minutes.
Spurs however held on and scored two more goals to put the game well beyond Coventry City. It ended (3-1) in favour of Tottenham Hotspur.
