There are places we return to again and again, not only because of what we can do there, but because of how they make us feel.
For several years now, I have been visiting a recreational and sports complex in Bogotá, a place where you can enjoy different activities such as swimming, soccer, bowling, and basketball. I occasionally go there to swim, but there is something else I really enjoy doing while I'm there: going up to the terrace and taking in the view of the city.
From up there, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Bogotá. You can see the Eastern Hills surrounding the city, El Campín Stadium, and NQS Avenue, with the constant movement of Bogotá stretching across the landscape.
Today, I wanted to share some of the photographs I have taken from this place. They may be simple images, but for me, they represent those little moments when I simply stop and observe.
After swimming or spending some time doing one of the activities there, going up to the terrace has become a little tradition for me. I like to stay there for a few minutes, look at the city from a different perspective, and enjoy the feeling of being a little above the rhythm of everyday life.
Maybe that's why I keep coming back after so many years.
Because sometimes we don't need to do anything extraordinary. Sometimes it's enough to have a place we can return to, look up, and remember how beautiful our city can be when we take the time to appreciate it.
Today, I simply wanted to share a little piece of the Bogotá I get to see from above. 💚🏙️

Una vista para detener el tiempo 🏙️⛰️
Hay lugares a los que uno vuelve una y otra vez, no solamente por lo que puede hacer allí, sino por cómo se siente cuando está en ellos.
Desde hace varios años suelo visitar un complejo recreativo y deportivo en Bogotá, un lugar donde se pueden practicar diferentes actividades como natación, fútbol, bolos y baloncesto. De vez en cuando voy a nadar, pero hay algo más que me gusta hacer cuando estoy allí: subir hasta la terraza y contemplar la ciudad.
Desde lo alto se puede disfrutar de una hermosa panorámica de Bogotá. En diferentes puntos de la vista se pueden apreciar los cerros orientales que rodean la ciudad, el Estadio El Campín y la avenida NQS, con el movimiento constante de Bogotá extendiéndose a lo largo del paisaje.
Hoy quise compartir algunas de las fotografías que he tomado desde este lugar. Son imágenes sencillas, pero para mí representan esos pequeños momentos en los que simplemente me detengo a observar.
Después de nadar o de pasar un rato haciendo alguna actividad, subir hasta la terraza se ha convertido en una pequeña costumbre. Me gusta quedarme allí unos minutos, mirar la ciudad desde otra perspectiva y disfrutar de la tranquilidad que ofrece estar un poco más arriba del ritmo cotidiano.
Quizás por eso sigo regresando después de tantos años.
Porque a veces no necesitamos hacer nada extraordinario. Basta con tener un lugar al que podamos volver, levantar la mirada y recordar lo bonita que puede ser nuestra ciudad cuando nos damos el tiempo de contemplarla.
Hoy simplemente quería compartirles un pedacito de esa Bogotá que veo desde las alturas. 💚🏙️
