Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing great. I wanted to let you know that I'm doing very well, happy, and a little disconnected from Hive lately because I've been busy with my classmates and teachers preparing for our high school graduation. It's been amazing.
We thought it wouldn't be possible because, due to the tragedy of the double earthquake, all events and celebrations had been suspended in our country. However, the Ministry of Education issued a statement asking all schools that had any graduation or diploma-related events to do so with the utmost discretion, without celebrations that involved parties or anything disproportionate to the current situation. We also thought we wouldn't be able to do it because of the constant power outages.
Despite all the setbacks and power failures, this week we were able to organize, first, the signing of the diplomas, which was a simple ceremony. Then, two days later, we held the diploma ceremony. This was a very emotional event attended by our family and friends. We received our diplomas, an honor earned through years of hard work and study. At the ceremony, to my surprise, I was honored with the wonderful news of achieving the 7th highest GPA in the institution, which filled me with immense pride. My parents were overjoyed, and everyone present gave me a standing ovation. This moment was truly special for me; in our country, having an excellent GPA gives you the opportunity to apply directly to university, and that, for me, is a great achievement.
After this simple yet beautiful ceremony, the following day was the graduation party at a venue chosen by the institution. This was an optional event for students who had purchased a party package at the beginning of the school year. I chose not to attend, as I plan to use the money I saved, very soon, with the help of my parents and my job at Hive, to buy a laptop. Hola chicos, espero estén súper. Les cuento que yo estoy muy bien, feliz y un poco alejada de Hive en estos momentos porque he estado, junto con mis compañeros de clases y profesores, preparando todo para nuestra graduación de secundaria. Ha sido grandioso.
Pensamos que no iba a ser posible porque en nuestro país, debido a la tragedia del doble terremoto, habían suspendido todos los eventos y celebraciones. Sin embargo, el Ministerio de Educación emitió un comunicado donde se le pedía a todos los centros educativos que tuviesen algún evento relacionado con promociones o entrega de títulos hacerlo con la mayor reserva posible, sin celebraciones que implicaran fiestas o algo desproporcionado para la realidad que se vive. Además, creíamos que no podríamos hacerlo por los constantes cortes eléctricos.
A pesar de todos los contratiempos y fallas de luz, esta semana pudimos organizar, primero, la firma de los títulos, la cual fue un acto sencillo. Luego, a los dos días, hicimos la entrega de títulos de secundaria. Este fue un acto muy emotivo al que asistieron nuestros familiares y amigos. Nos entregaron el título, un honor adquirido gracias a todos estos años de esfuerzo y estudio. En este evento, para mi sorpresa, fui homenajeada al recibir la grata noticia de obtener el 7mo mejor promedio de la institución, lo cual me llenó de muchísimo orgullo. Mis padres se sintieron muy felices y los presentes me ovacionaron. Este momento para mí fue maravilloso; en nuestro país, al tener un excelente promedio, tienes la oportunidad de optar por un cupo directo a la universidad, y eso para mí es un gran triunfo.
Después de realizar este sencillo pero hermoso acto, al día siguiente sería la fiesta de graduación en un sitio escogido por la institución. Este era un evento opcional donde participaban aquellos estudiantes que desde el inicio del año escolar pagaron un paquete festivo. Yo opté por no ir, ya que el dinero que me ahorré lo voy a invertir, muy pronto y con la ayuda de mis padres y mi trabajo en Hive, en comprarme una laptop. Pero esto será motivo de otro post; por los momentos, los invito a ver mi video, ya que quise compartir este momento tan memorable con ustedes.
