Fascinating Insects

Helophilus pendulus

Hello friends, how is everyone doing? I hope you are all well, and I wish you good health—after all, living in peace with one’s family is the greatest treasure in the world; without it, even good health can gradually deteriorate. Today, I would like to share with my friends in the Hive community an insect I spotted in a beautiful natural setting—an insect that I found truly fascinating. It is known as Helophilus pendulus. It is a type of flying insect; I first noticed it while it was in flight. Since I found it so interesting, I took a few photos using my mobile phone, which I have presented below for all of you to see.

I spotted this beautiful flying insect at my village home. To the southeast of our house, there is a sandy plot of land that has been converted into a vegetable garden for growing various types of produce. I noticed the insect resting gracefully on the leaf of an okra plant; it was a truly delightful sight. It is a remarkably beautiful creature in its natural habitat, and I was particularly charmed by the fact that it is a flying insect. While it bears a striking resemblance to a honeybee, it is not actually a bee. It is a type of flying insect that can often be seen perching on the flowers of various plants.

I occasionally come across insects like this—sometimes on the leaves of plants in the fields, and at other times along the roadside. It is not a harmful insect like a bee; it possesses no features capable of causing injury to humans. Upon closer observation, I noticed that it has wings, much like other flying insects. However, these wings are remarkably thin and small in proportion to its body—it is quite fascinating to imagine how it manages to fly with such delicate wings. I also observed a beautiful blend of colors on its body, which makes it look particularly striking and attractive. Since I found it so appealing, I took a few photos with my mobile phone, and I am now sharing them with my friends in the Hive community. Thank you all!
