Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog.
This week concludes a period during which I’ve continued working on the recovery of my left arm. After an examination, I was relieved to learn—thank God—that there was no fracture or tear, and no inflammation. It was simply a severe strain—a sort of wrenching—that caused a great deal of pain. With rest, treatment, and gentle movement, it should gradually heal.
To be honest, the pain is nowhere near as intense as it was during the first week, but it still hurts a bit when I perform certain movements—like reaching behind my back or lifting something heavy. This is stressful for me; it’s been over two weeks now, and it’s frustrating not to be able to return to my physical activities comfortably.
So, I find myself having to work on more than just my arm movements—which, if pushed too far, cause significant pain that can take hours to subside—I also have to work on my patience and endurance. These are, without a doubt, life lessons and challenges; one of them is learning to be more cautious.
Despite this minor limitation, I managed to attend my training sessions for most of the week—though I say "most" because, yesterday, the pain became too much to bear, and I ended up staying in bed. I also had to head out to the grocery store, and—much to a taxi driver’s gain—I had to hire a ride; walking those three blocks while carrying bags was simply impossible. I was charged as if I were traveling to another city, but I suppose that’s just part of the process of learning patience.
What did help ease my stress, however, was walking through aisles filled with Christmas decorations, listening to the festive sounds of gaitas (traditional Venezuelan Christmas music), and soaking in the holiday atmosphere. You all know me—I’m in "perpetual Christmas mode," and when this time of year arrives, I’m simply bursting with joy. I had an invitation to a "Pink October" talk, but I canceled; I really needed to rest after a hectic week and get myself into better shape for Sunday, when the "Vida" team is hosting an event for World Breast Cancer Day.
On the other hand, I treat myself whenever I can—taking advantage of the fact that I enjoy cooking. I broke the rules yesterday and made something really delicious that I love: those "guilty pleasure" hot dogs loaded with all sorts of toppings.
Then there are days like today, when I felt too lazy to even make coffee—though I did it anyway, because I can’t imagine starting my day without it, hahaha! For breakfast, I just had some leftovers from the fridge and scrambled eggs. It happens; not every day starts with the same level of energy. What matters is managing to accomplish as many of your planned goals as possible—even the ones that seem like small details. In the end, they all add up to a productive day.
Thanks for visiting my blog... have a great weekend!
