Title: Was Trump's China Trip Really About Tariffs? One Theory Says No
There's a theory floating around, 11 weeks old now and still holding up, that Trump's Beijing trip with 18 top CEOs in tow wasn't about tariffs at all, it was about gold.

Add the closed Strait of Hormuz choking off a fifth of world energy, and Iran starts looking less like the main story and more like leverage China and Russia are using to force Washington to the table.
The theory: China floods roughly $1 trillion into American factories in public, while gold gets quietly repriced in private, easing Washington's crushing debt without China ever moving the yuan. Nothing's confirmed. But watch the dollar, watch gold, and watch who ends up holding real assets when the dust settles, it's rarely the ones Washington claims to be protecting.
