Hello to the entire Actific community!
Today was one of those days that warms the heart. First thing in the morning, I set out, full of excitement, to take part in an activity that has become a beautiful tradition every school year: the commemoration of Indigenous Resistance Day.
This time, our meeting spot was the cozy “Los Jabillos” park, located in the Los Guayos housing complex. Under the shade of its beautiful trees, we enjoyed wonderful weather and an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, culture, and camaraderie.
Creativity and Tradition The schools and the community put on an incredible display:
We learned a great deal about ethnobotany, the symbolism of our local petroglyphs, and the legacy of the La Isla community and the La Diosa de los Tacariguas Educational Unit.
We marveled at the exhibition of beautiful wood carvings.
There was a stunning display featuring palm-leaf huts, hammocks, fruits from our land, and even a colorful model canoe with its fishing nets. Everyone paid attention to even the smallest details!
It was an incredibly enjoyable day, filled with smiles, learning, and a strong sense of Venezuelan identity. It fills me with pride to see how we keep our traditions alive and pass this history on to new generations.
How was this day celebrated at your schools or in your communities? I look forward to reading your comments!
