I have always found the question of a favourite colour surprisingly easy to answer white, when i was much younger i just used to say white cos it was the safe answer but as i grew up it just became my fav color. But saying white is my favourite colour doesn't mean I want everything around me to be white. In fact, I think what I really like is the incredible number of shades and variations that come with it.
There is that cleanliness that comes with white that i like but pure white can sometimes feel a little too plain, and boring, so I tend to gravitate towards its softer and warmer shades. Ivory is one of my favourites because it feels elegant without being too bright. Cream has a comfortable feeling to it, while off-white gives you that clean appearance. Pearl white also has a slightly more sophisticated feel to it, especially when you see it on certain materials. I also like vanilla, particularly when white is being used in interiors. It has enough warmth to stop a room from feeling cold. I could really go on and on about shades of white, im like a white expert, if their is anything like that.
What I like most about white is that it can completely change depending on what it is next to. Put bright white beside darker colours and it becomes striking. Put cream or ivory beside some colours and suddenly it feels soft and comfortable. It can be modern, traditional, minimalist, elegant, or casual depending on how you use it. So yes, white is my favourite colour, but that doesn't mean I want a completely white wardrobe, white house, white car, and white everything. 😂 I just like the different personalities that white can have. Sometimes I want something bright and clean, sometimes warm and soft, and sometimes something almost creamy.
I suppose that's why white works for me. It isn't really just one colour. There are so many versions of it, and somehow each one gives you a completely different feeling.
