Bull markets make everyone look like a genius

For the past week or so and since Trump made some empty declarations, the crypto market got back to life and it turned bullish. And one thing came to my mind when things started to go up and that was that during bull market times, everyone looks like a genius. But it is the time before that which truly matters. There are the actions that one takes during bear market when everyone is running scared, that ultimately truly raise the situation of someone. When there is a bull market and everything gets hyped as it continues to rise towards infinity, there are people jumping the train and riding it as long as they can. And while doing that and showing everywhere on social media how smart they are that they've jumped at the right time, that's simply just empty words and nothing of substance behind it. The true winners are those that know to keep quiet and have the courage to invest when everything seems to go to zero. Not that I am one of them, but I like to believe I am neither at the opposite end of it.

In my case I can say that during the bear market I did two moves. Bought back BNB at less than 50% compared to what I've sold last year and bought into Hive at less than 5 cents, even if it went much lower than that. But I have patience in both cases and my goal is to do x2 on my investment, which I tried to be quite realistic and in the same time beat any other traditional instrument alongside with inflation and other factors. I've learned from the lived crypto cycles not to be greedy and to accept the fact that there are a handful of projects that will still do x10 x100 or so. The crypto space has become quite complex and one would need to understand very well economics, finance and the direction in which the money flows. And while I studied Economics Informatics in my university years, that just scratched the surface of the economics' complexity.

Even if I hold Bitcoin and Ethereum and the market bumped them, I can still be realistic and say that I am not a genius. Actually I don't like such extreme compliments, which would make someone more ignorant, arrogant, while not being even close to the truth. It is probably in the human nature to behave like this, but these "geniuses" might not get of the train when it remains without fuel and when the market goes down, they will keep silent and disappear from social media. Probably they will hide under a rock hoping that nobody would ask them how they are doing on their crypto investments.

Balance is necessary in every stage of the crypto market cycle and also "even if this is not financial advise", people should avoid creating hype around it. They can show their conviction, they can present their investment, but not tell it as it is a sure bet. For example in my case as I bought Hive and powered it up in the amount of $7,000, I said that this was my last bet on this token and it is either make it or brake it. If I can double that sum during the peak of the bull market, it means that this ecosystem tokenomics are not doomed, but if it doesn't even reach that it will be hard for me to continue with same conviction. And that's a risk that I've accepted and told truthful about it. If it will happen or not it remains to be seen, but I took the leap during bear market when there is uncertainty at every step, so if I am right and things will reverse during the bull market, at least I will not be one of the "vain geniuses" that speak of how smart they are. Sometimes a little bit of modesty doesn't hurt, right? 😆

Hive Power Up Day - September 1st 2026

I think Hive can easily do a X10 from the 4 cents it currently is, which can give you 40 cents if you're selling in early or mid 2028 or maybe at the peak. I think 40 cents for the price peak is very possible, but no one knows the timing.. if the witnesses wake up and do something about HBD or the DHF, then we might have more

With bnb, there's a possibility of x15, or even more. However no one can time the market, the rule of thumb I've developed is to take profit some at X10.

For me, this is not a bull run. Just some pump that's normal here and there

If this is truly a bull run, it can trigger a strong move in altcoins. In that case, investing in low-cap coins could potentially give higher returns.

Your choices of BNB and HIVE are both good. BNB may not give you huge capital gains, but it’s relatively less risky. HIVE, on the other hand, is a solid investment and could potentially deliver a 5–10x gain if the market turns strongly bullish on this coin...
