Few months ago I have invested in the Netflix stock and in few weeks I ended up selling it for more than 20% profit. I did that because I got to invest in Bloom Energy where I also just booked a 50% profit. And now as the Netflix stock went down again reaching significant lows, I decided to buy again into it. What was the signal for me to do that? Well, I am tracking politicians moves as masked "insider trading" and I am picking the stocks that I believe had a comeback potential. And for me the chosen asset has that capability, even if the entertainment market might not live the best times. But I believe it can expand into so many additional domains and capture more value quite easy.
As of 2nd of October, there were four politicians that have purchased $NFLX Netflix and haven't sold yet: Cleo Fields, Byron Donalds, Alan Armstrong and John Boozman. In the same time the stock was trading at 2-year lows ($67.20) and would be up ~96% if it returns to previous ATHs. While I didn't jump on it in real time, I made my move five days later at a price point of $68.50 which showed already a small uptrend. This is not an investment that I plan to hold for a long time, so if the stock goes back to around $80.00 and if I have another asset aligned up until that happens, I will probably sell and move along.
This is part of a special stocks experiment that I am running where I am tracking different politicians or CEO's movements when it comes to stocks. I think I have started this strategy about 6 months ago and while I have traded more than 5 assets, all have brought me some nice profits in this interval. While for short term trading the taxes are higher than holding long, it is an experiment that I intend to follow and act upon. The only stale period that might come up is if an asset doesn't provide, case in which I might wait for a longer period for that to happen. Or I might even sell at a loss, but nothing too hard.
I wished I have written about this stocks strategy earlier in order to walk you through my investments and the assets that I have found and traded upon. My latest two moves were on Bloom Energy (BE) that I bought at $190 and sold at $295 and the other one was in Intel that I bought at about $85 and I think now it is standing at about $115. I have sold Bloom Energy (BE), but Intel I am still holding even if I have a nice profit on it as well. But I think it can do better. But until that happens I will watch closer what Netflix will be doing in the next period. I am already seeing greenish pastures for it, but probably that's a longer road ahead just from one day to another. So if you like to see my journey with this stocks strategy, stay tuned and follow up as I will post my moves whenever I will do them.
