I woke up in the middle of the night feeling agitated because I had a nightmare. I dreamed that the world was ending. I was in a shelter waiting for the final moment, aware of what was going to happen.
There were many people in that place where I saw myself: friends, coworkers, children, but none of them were members of my family. That situation bothered me a lot; it caught my attention within the dream itself.
Amidst the crowd, each person had a phone in their hand, and little by little, each one was turning off. I confess that it was distressing, but at the same time, I felt calm. Somehow, that repeated action of turning off the flashlights told me that I was getting closer and closer to death, and in that case, there was nothing I could do. In front of my eyes, there was also a hamlet on a mountain, and the lights in the houses were also going out one by one. It was the end.

Suddenly, a gigantic wave of muddy water unleashed its fury on everyone in the shelter. When the wave crashed down, strangely enough, it didn't hit us. I experienced the worst anxiety of my life in that dream, but at the same time I felt a strange calmness.
It was one of those long dreams. When I woke up, I immediately shared the dream with my husband. We both agreed on the possible impact of recent events in Venezuela, specifically in the city of Caracas where I live. Thank God, my activities, training, meditation, and everything I do for my mental and emotional health have been a great help.
In the end, I was able to understand that this dream was not just a nightmare. It was a mirror. A reflection of so many uncertainties experienced, of the collective anxiety in the atmosphere, of the feeling that there are still things to come. But it was also a sign that, even in the midst of chaos, there is something within us that remains calm and that even in the densest darkness, we can find stillness.

Today more than ever, I value inner work, connecting with my body, mind, and spirit. Because even though I can't control what happens outside, I can choose how to respond inside. And if this dream came to tell me anything, it's that I must continue to cultivate that peace that doesn't depend on circumstances, but on my commitment to myself.
That dream was cathartic, a profound emotional release that, although distressing, allowed me to empty fears that I may not have known I was carrying. They say that things always happen for a reason, and in this case, it was as if my subconscious needed to shout out what my conscious mind was keeping silent.
Although I know I am a strong person, I cannot help but recognize how much the situation has impacted my family. This forces me to keep moving forward for future situations that we know we will have to take on and face. That's what life is all about.
