Which is the most difficult season of the year for you? Why is it difficult, and what do you do to make it bearable?
¿Cuál es la estación del año más difícil para ti? ¿Por qué es difícil y qué haces para hacerlo soportable?
The truth is that in Venezuela, there are only two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. I long to go to a country that has all four seasons—autumn and spring are my favorites because of how beautiful they look. I can’t stand the heat; I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it. Fortunately, we have air conditioning in our rooms, so I rarely leave mine—though, due to power fluctuations, there are times when we just have to endure the heat. To cope as best I can, I take cold showers, fan myself, and drink plenty of water. I feel that if Venezuela had four seasons, there would be some relief from the heat (except during the summer), but since we essentially live in an eternal summer, having four seasons would definitely be an improvement.
La verdad es que en Venezuela solo hay estación seca y de presipitaciones y mi anhelo es ir a un país con las cuatro estaciones ya que mis preferidas son Otoño y Primavera por lo lindo que lucen. Yo no soporto el calor, es algo de lo que no creo acostumbrarme nunca, afortunadamente tenemos acondicionadores de aire en los cuartos y por esosalgo muy poco del mio, sin embargo con las fluctuaciones de luz hay veces en las que nos ha tocado aguantarnos el calor. Lo que hago para intentar pasarlo lo mejor posible es darme una ducha fría, abanicarme con un abanico y tomar bastante agua durante ese momento. Siento que si Venezuela tuviese cuatro estaciones, hubiese más descanso del calor (a excepción del verano) pero como vivimos practicamente un eterno verano... creo que sería más bien una mejora
Do you like that stability, where weather usually follows expected patterns? Or do you like more variety, where weather is more changeable? Is there one season when you really thrive and you're the happiest?
¿te gusta esa estabilidad, donde el clima suele seguir los patrones esperados? ¿O prefieres más variedad, donde el clima es más cambiante? ¿Hay alguna temporada en la que realmente prosperas y eres más feliz?
Honestly, I absolutely love the rain, but I prefer being somewhere with a more stable climate. For instance, I get around on a motorized bicycle; if I head out on a sunny day and it suddenly starts to rain while I’m on the road, it becomes a huge problem—it’s actually happened to me before, and I hate it. So, given the choice, I’d much rather be somewhere where I know exactly what the weather is going to be like.
La verdad amo demasiado la lluvia pero me gusta estar en un sitio donde el clima sea más estable porque por ejemplo mi vehiculo personal es una bicimoto asi que si salgo con un día soleado y en medio demi salida llueve derrepente, es un enorme problema (de hecho ya me ha pasado y lo odio) asi que sí, si me dieran a elegir preferiría estar en un sitio donde sepa exactamente que pasará con el clima
