Not long ago I got an email from Suno they said after September 3rd they will have a policy change and I will only be able to download 20 songs a month... pretty lame as I signed up a while back for year subscription, well since then my local game got established and fairly strong, and so I was not even sure if I would be renewing my subscription with suno and now with this change the decision is even easier.
That is the think with cloud models you may be able to access some powerful models but it comes at a price and you also have to play by their rules.
Is local AI the answer ? Well it could be but it depends what you are trying to do, if it's basic LLM tasks, making music , videos and pictures I am more then set, but if you want to do some high level coding with AI that is where what I got is far from ideal.
I am able to run some decent models but like even many frontier models can struggle so expecting my quantized variants to do as well is not realistic, maybe with some more Vram I can load up some more capable models but even then I think the high level stuff will still need the frontier cloud models.
I am going to look into seeing how I can use both in a more efficient way getting local models to do the easy jobs and the cloud models doing planning an managing the local models.
