State of Entitlement!

Its-Mine.jpg

I enjoyed so much with my last writing prop which was about favourite and hated personality on Hive. I was not expecting so many people to participate in that prop but it made me feel good because people did enjoy it.

My next writing prop is something which is the current state of Hive. You might have seen different people whining about rewards and so many entitled opinions. Hive is a social platform which generally does reward different authors, curators and developers.

There are so many different scenarios and people are generally not very happy about how other people are making rewards. I am going to give you some examples of them:

  • Same set of people getting high author rewards but they are still pissed because they are not getting support from some more specific accounts
  • I deserve more rewards and currently I am getting very less
  • I want each of my post to be rewarded
  • Why is he/she getting more rewards than me
  • I am following all the guidelines then why I am not getting enough recognition
  • I am celebrity/diva on other traditional social platform then why I am not making enough rewards on Hive ...

There are so many more scenarios giving rise to this state of entitlement. If you are going to claim that you are not here for the money factor then I request to please just stay away because that is just a blatant lie. Money factor does play an important role on this platform and we do have social element attached with it. Some are here just to make quick bucks which is not fair at all.

Deal with Entitlement

Make a post about this current issue of entitlement we are facing on Hive. You have to explain why it exists right now and if you are given absolute power to change one thing on Hive then how will you resolve it? Be practical about your solution and I expect some examples which could explain how it can be resolved. Constructive criticism can help solve many problems, don't do it just for sake of criticism.

Engagement:

Engagement rules are just the same as the previous writing prop. I'll be looking for meaningful engagement in comments and upvote them.

Rules:

You just have to use #hiveentitlement tag in your post.

All the good posts who participate in this initiative will possibly receive some support from @appreciator. I would like to explicitly state that support is not warranted and nobody is entitled to receive any guaranteed support.

I wish, we were able to reward more to new comers until they get to a sizable stake. The community can decide, but I think 2-5k HP is a good range because by that time, the person would have been habituated about this place and can decide, if he wants to stay here or leave. And no power down should be done by that person, just to make sure, they are at least trying to build.

I think part of Hive's problem is that the community is so small and a few accounts control a lot of the reward distribution. Some of them tend to vote mainly for other big accounts, but others do a better job and I feel it is better than it was on Steem. We don't have all that vote selling for a start and those who look for abuse find much less to downvote.

I am keen to see Hive grow so we can see how it scales up. We need to provide a bigger audience to attract major content creators as the rewards are not eneough on their own.

I do pretty well, but I do not feel entitled to those rewards. I have built up connections and relationships with people who choose to support me. I would actually like to see more of them support some of the smaller account I vote up who are doing great stuff. There are artists and musicians who put in a lot of work to earn cents. If they did better they would tell more of their friends to get on board. I am just doing this for fun and do not rely on my Hive income. I just want to do what I can to help it grow.

Hello Blue Mist, nothing is safe here and that is what makes it more interesting and appealing to me, every day is a challenge for me as a blogger to publish in Hive and receive a "good vote", I will not say that I do not publish just because I share content because it is not so, it is true that here I develop my ideas and I have a window to the world to express myself, But what has kept me here with all of you is the fact that thanks to the effort, creativity, dedication, discipline, constancy and determination that I have every day I can receive votes that generate some kind of money which helps me to cover my essential expenses in my country Venezuela.

I don't know what would be of me without #Hive, that's why for me it's a challenge and as a kind of lucky roulette to be rewarded and monetize my blog in front of so many users that like me are doing an excellent job daily.

Thanks for this new initiative! You will soon read my post!

This information is interesting and analyze the feasibility of the rewards proposals and the financial application of the platform and that of everyone in the community is compensatory to the contributions.

  • @leelektrik(70)· 2169d

Hive is great - sometimes you get votes and other times less votes - but it's such a good discipline to keep on writing - just like keeping a diary - and when you get paid for it - what a pleasure.

  • @jlufer(81)· 2169d

hello dear friend @bluemist good morning The weekly proposals that you present to us are excellent, they always have an appeal and a very special seasoning Without a doubt I will accompany you this week to your proposal. I really appreciate the work you do for us and this company Have a wonderful day

  • @emiliocabrera(74)· 2170d

Very good your recent writing accessories Sir, the points of view that could emerge from each participant will be very intriguing because "each head is a world", but in all perhaps there should be a common denominator that draws attention and from there many are clarified doubts, some rough edges are smoothed out and improvements to the hive platform are consolidated in a constructive way. It is true that nobody will waste their time here if they do not get money, in fact, publishing and going unnoticed is very unpleasant, as you say: "There is no guaranteed vote", although it is a truth that hurts, we must assume that also the position of many creators content, is also selfish, we just want to throw a post, be lazy and hope that the curators leave a good tip. It's not fair!

Sometimes I think, what would I do if I had the power of the whale @appreciator? It is a terrible compromise! Hahaha

I congratulate you for your hard work, for fair distribution, for the hours you spend reading and curating content.

My tiny power and support is not guaranteed either hahaha, but as long as I can I will support you in these intriguing and fun initiatives.

    Cheers:

Greetings friend, I applaud this initiative, I think it is a way to listen to the concerns of the groups, whether they are correct or not, this is about listening to us and raising our points of view.

I think you are doing well, as you have opened a platform for anyone who has a concern to be heard and from all those arguments to collect information that serves to strengthen the platform.

Greetings I hope you have a great week ! 🤝

  • @mariela53(72)· 2171d

Hello @bluemist, I find this initiative very interesting so I will participate and contribute my grain of sand. Regards

  • @kaminchan(76)· 2172d

Yup! That’s it truly! I had managed to get thirty people signed up and blogging! But they all disappeared within two weeks!! No engagement at all! They were used to the FB style of blogging, just pushing the tab and waiting.

    Cheers.

  • @lisbethseijas(78)· 2172d

votes are certainly not guaranteed. what you have to be constant and improve every day to get noticed.

  • @cetb2008(80)· 2172d

Greetings, interesting initiative, that is true, the vote is not guaranteed when publishing, we must continue to post quality content that can also be valued by different communities and be constant

  • @geekgirl(80)· 2173d

This is a really interesting topic. Due to the nature of Hive: stake based rewards distribution, decentralization, and pure human nature of competitiveness - these topics will never go away. It could even be a good sign, as it means more people are joining to participate and quickly realize competition for rewards interesting. :)

  • @starstrings01(78)· 2173d

Thanks for this initiative. It is a very common matter in this blockchain and almost everybody has felt one way or sort as you have exactly briefed it.

I would do my best to make an entry to this, even in between my busy day life, and share with others to participate also.

    Thanks once again.

  • @roadstories(78)· 2173d

This is a more interesting topic for me, even though I know what Hive is about, I can remember that a comment is also taken as a publication, I think this is the best way to express yourself, directly in the publication and not make a new one, I am not interested in voting, although the good thing is that comments can also be voted.

And just in that I think that this kind of things to comment is undervalued, I mean, I have never seen a comment in the trends, why? if you are supposed to do the same as a "new post" format only you don't have tags or title, this is one of the clichés I see more in Hive, well, also in steemit for that time.

I'm going to speak for the curators, because we are the most criticized, because our publications maybe have more votes, and people forget that we are content creators too, and that curatorship is not free, the employer chooses how to pay his employee, it can be in cash, or it can be in votes, and in hive there is no rule that prevents it.

So content creators, understand that the curatorship is a strong work, especially when who is in front of you as a boss has a great power, we have the responsibility.

Time, here there are people who have not even a year in the blockchain and are already criticizing you, people who do not even greet you criticize you for getting good votes without knowing the sources or as I said a moment ago, they see us as curators and not as content creators, we also have our "quality", we also spend time and much to do both things.

What is not understood, and should always be understood, is that no one has a guaranteed vote, absolutely no one, unless you vote for yourself for having good voting power.

A few days ago I was talking about the voting system of a dapp that I am not going to name, now, this dapp votes content according to its traffic, well, we did some tests among colleagues and the result was disappointing, it turns out that the traffic of many publications are 10-word comments, from the same users, where clearly you can see the sense of malice to the great vote, while a quality publication in all senses has very good and constructive comments, it gets 10% of votes, the other one that is monotonous, boring with basic comments gets 50% and even more.

Of course, every project has its rules, and always remembering that the vote is not a guarantee, but when you have a public VOTING SYSTEM, in which you take into account the traffic, why do you proceed to vote randomly? less for the good, more for the basic, and I can not fail to mention. ..that percentage that they take away from you for using their platform, well, this is something that I tried to fix and I couldn't, I can't, because even having 3 years in a blockchain your voice is not taken into account, they will only thank you for the report or the comment and that's it.

For this example I mean that, people must understand the word "decentralization" in order to be here and not become bitter, stop criticizing the other without knowing or having proof, stop thinking that being persistent guarantees you votes or that quality itself will lead you to the top of the trends, this is as false as those who say they are not here for the money.

Certainly there are many rules that shouldn't even be rules, they are just impositions of those who have more power in Hive, for example, if this comment was really a post (IT IS) I would get a considerable vote, but if you were to see this comment in trends, the DV war would be fulminating.

When money is involved the morale is in question, but I think there are people who are really here for the money, but they are also here to take care of the blockchain that fills their pockets, or that satisfies them as a content creator when they get a vote for effort or because I am a friend of some powerful person... but remember once again I can have my friends, and if I publish something of quality and that person wants to vote for me is in all his right, and if he wants to vote for all my publications he can do it too, this is something they don't understand, they see it as abuse... abuse... I think the biggest abuse is to pretend to be someone else, to use the automatic votes of big whales to make shitpost...

    Or rather...

The biggest abuse is to say you're not in it for the money.

There are many things to say, but this is all for today, thanks for this initiative, I think you are more productive than others over there. Although the previous one was... as to make a drama and that a bomb will explode, well you criticize always is going to see, but it is funny to read unfounded criticisms, that is to say, come on you need tests and time to learn what you should do and what not, what you should say and what not... accept the downvote as you accept with joy the upvote, and above all not say "I am committed to the platform" and you criticize it in other social media, that is to say, how many faces do you have?

I don't want to leave without saying...

Curators, curators who have years of experience in this work, "we bust our asses", we are literally busting our asses now.

    Thanks blue! a hug.

Very interesting @bluemist, I was just talking about that with my sister, I like to be taken into account and valued, (by my platonic boyfriend hehe) but when the vote doesn't come we feel bad and that's good to feel disillusioned, but the thing is that we have to be constant and better every day. Maybe the vote won't come today, but it will come tomorrow.

I publish my creations in #hive because I love this platform, the economic factor plays a fundamental role for everyone.

I will analyze very well how to focus my publication on the subject. Greetings.
