After walking around for some time, around the house, the garden, up and down the stairs, I had this pair of lopis which is just sticky rice dresses in coconut shreds, eaten with sweet palm sugar syrup. Superb! π₯
Grabbing a bit of sweets after walking can be my new post-walk ritual. There's something especially satisfying about enjoying a snack after spending so much time on my feet. It felt even better when earned through movement.
The state of the night sky when I posted this was just blank. No stars, no planes, no rain.
Nature's Sticky Souvenir
The routine is becoming more natural, and I appreciate the physical and mental benefits that come with it. Some people tend to walk in the early mornings but I don't mind the evenings, or even midnight walks. I'd love to up my step count to 20,000 or more but maybe in the next couple of days. It takes a while to get there.
At least today I get another 10,000 steps in the bag, another delicious treat enjoyed. Another reason to wash my shoes, as I may have stepped on some tree sap or maybe resin, not sure. I don't know what it is, but it's amber and it's thicker and stickier and it picks up dirt, leaves, everything and won't wash off.
It's hot out. But it was still bearable.
During my walk, I noticed a discrepancy between the numbers shown by my Mi Band and the steps counted on the Actifit app. It counted more steps than my smart watch. Off by the thousands, which is actually quite a lot.
