There are many ways one can be rejected, and no matter where or by whom, it hurts.
Some people get rejected in relationships. This breaks their hearts and can make them sad for a certain period of time. It depends on how the individual is able to handle rejection.
Some get rejected when they apply for jobs. This also hurts, especially when they have no other option at that moment. A lot of people are unemployed, and they have been to many organizations trying to secure a job, but it has been one rejection after another.
I do not like being rejected. Rejection hurts me more than not getting the things I ask for, and this is why I hardly request something when I am not sure I have a higher percentage of getting it.
But like others, I handle rejection pretty well. I move on, and I do not show it, even though it might affect me for days or months. I am an overthinker, and whenever I remember it, it will definitely make me feel bad. So, I would say I get hurt badly for a long time, but I do not show it.
Unfortunately, some people do not know how to handle rejection at all. I have heard about people doing terrible things to themselves just because they got rejected by someone they love. Some even decide to end the life that they did not create, without thinking about the other people they will put in pain because of their terrible decisions.
I know rejection hurts, but it is not worth taking our life over. And aside from relationships, no matter where we get rejected, we should always know that we can have something better than what we were denied.
Rejection can hurt, but it does not define our worth. Sometimes, what feels like a painful rejection can simply be a redirection toward something we would appreciate even more later.
