Wednesday Walk

Day 3000 | Long 3-Hour+ Dog Walk

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activity. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, entertainment, and my personal life...

To start off, it now has been 3000 days of me making a daily journal blog here on Hive pretty much riding the highs and the lows in search for a good healthy balance. It has become a daily routine what I do each morning and it helps me to kind of look into the mirror especially at times when I kind of let myself go in bad habits so it pushes me to always turn them around again.

I reamin someone who really enjoys life in a what most people would say boring way having my routine and kind of sticking too it without too many crazy things. I have made some good progress though over all this time kind of making a new friends group, going on my first long Solo travel recently and also finding a girlfriend.

This daily journal blog style very much suits me and I'm still looking for the good balance is life throws so many tempations at us all which makes it a massive challenge.

Tuesday was a family day with the main aim to eat healthy and go on a long dog walk in the afternoon which I did. The weather was kind of perfect for it but I was a bit tired already before leaving so I was going to see how it went and if needed cut it short a bit.

The walk is always in the area of my parents place and always starts on hardened roads to at some point switch to unhardened paths next to a river at first taking a side-tour to the town center where there is a big church. Reaching that takes about 90 minutes of walking and marks the halfway point. I always take a short break there and give our dog some water and food allowing her also to rest a bit as she is not getting younger.

It turned out though that there was some kind of local event with horses and a small carnival which made it hard to take a break or even explore it with my dog who was with me.

So I pretty much continued our walk to the next church where we had the small break and I also video called with my girlfriend while we were walking.

About 3 Hours and 10 Minutes after leaving, we were back at my parents place and I feel I was more exhausted than my dog. My mom made something to eat and I had a short nap in front of the tv before driving back to my appartment in Ghent. Overall it was an enjoyable day with a great walk while keeping my food intake fairly healthy and limited.

I also ended with 22k+ Steps!

Congratulations on reaching 3,000 days of blogging. I think consistency is one of the hardest things to maintain, so this is a remarkable achievement. I can relate to enjoying a quiet and routine lifestyle. Many of my blog ideas come from simple daily activities, caring for animals, and personal experiences. Your walk sounds relaxing, especially with the beautiful weather. I slightly laughed when you said you were more exhausted than your dog. 😁 Sometimes animals seem to have endless energy. The family time, healthy meals, and long walk all sound wonderful. Thank you for sharing another day from your journey. Cheers!
