Ten episodes into Gossip Girl, and I'm starting to realize that no matter how elegant an event looks on the Upper East Side, there's always some drama waiting to ruin it!
“Hi, Society” takes us to the annual Cotillion Ball, and honestly, I really enjoyed this episode. The beautiful dresses, fancy atmosphere and complicated relationships make it feel like classic Gossip Girl.
What caught my attention most was Serena's grandmother, CeCe. At first, she seems like a sweet grandmother who simply wants to see her granddaughter at the ball. But the way she manipulates Serena and Dan shows just how controlling these wealthy families can be. I actually felt bad for Dan because he was only trying to do the right thing.
Meanwhile, Blair continues to be one of my favorite characters. Her complicated situation with Nate and Chuck is getting more interesting, especially now that Chuck is clearly jealous. I never expected to become so invested in these three!
Jenny also makes some questionable decisions, but I understand why she wants to experience this glamorous world so badly.
And I have to mention Rufus and Lily. Every time they share a scene, I find myself hoping we'll learn more about their past.

My favorite episode of the season so far! The Cotillion Ball was a perfect setting for jealousy, family manipulation and romantic drama. Almost every character had something interesting happening, and the episode kept me entertained from beginning to end.
The Upper East Side certainly knows how to throw a party... and create problems!
