1️⃣ If ever the Ladies of Hive community organize a lavish Masquerade meetup, what historical figure, accomplished author/artist, or fictional character will you dress as to attend this imaginary event, and why?
1️⃣ Si alguna vez la comunidad de Ladies of Hive organiza una lujosa reunión de Mascarada, ¿de qué figura histórica, autor/artista consumado o personaje ficticio te vestirás para este evento imaginario y por qué?
I think I would dress as Manuela Sáenz—the great love of my country's Liberator, Simón Bolívar. I love this historical figure because she was so far ahead of her time; she was a woman of action who actually saved his life on more than one occasion. The most significant instance was the so-called "September Conspiracy" (or "September Night"), an assassination attempt that took place in Bogotá on September 25, 1828. She uncovered the plot, woke the Liberator, and urged him to escape through the window while she stayed behind to distract the conspirators. Her act was so brave that Simón Bolívar bestowed upon her the title "Liberator of the Liberator." She made a courageous decision—not only from a political standpoint but also emotionally, as she was saving the love of her life.
Yo creo que me vestiría como Manuelita Saenz, quien fuera el gran amor del libertador de mi país, Simón Bolivar, me encanta este personaje histórico porque estaba muy adelantado a su época, ella era una chica de armas tomar e incluso llegó a salvarle la vida en más de una ocasión a él, pero el hecho más significativo fue el llamado "Conspiración Septembrina o "Noche Septembrina" un intento de magnicidio que ocurrió el 25 de septiembre de 1828 en Bogotá, ella descubrió la conspiración, despertó al libertador y le pidió que se saliera por la ventana, mientars tanto ella se quedó para distraer a los conspiradores, y fue tan valiente su acto que Simón Bolivar le confirió el título de «la Libertadora del Libertador». Ella tomó una decisión valiente desde el punto de vista politico pero también sentimentalmete porque ella estaba salvando al amor de su vida.
2️⃣ Set aside the body wash, turn off the shower, swap that brush for a microphone and imagine yourself a famous singer. What style would you sing? Pick one, two, or even three other Hive members as members of your imaginary music group and the state the reason why.
2️⃣ Deja a un lado el gel de baño, cierra la ducha, cambia el cepillo por un micrófono e imagínate que eres un cantante famoso. ¿Qué estilo cantarías? Elige a uno, dos o incluso tres miembros más de Hive para que formen parte de tu grupo musical imaginario y explica por qué.
I never imagined becoming a singer, haha—but if I were one, I’d sing some kind of Latin genre, since I’m Latina. Probably salsa! I’d also choose my daughter, @bethyjade, to be in my musical group, because she loves to dance just as much as I do. In fact, she reminds me a lot of myself when I was young—so we’d likely be out there on stage, singing and dancing! 😄
Nunca imaginé ser cantante, jaja pero creo que si yo lo fuese cantaría algún genero latino, ya que soy latina, probablemente salsa, y tal vez elegiria a mi hija @bethyjade para estar en mi grupo musical porque a ella le gusta mucho bailar como yo, de hecho ella me recuerda mucho a mi misma en mi juventud, así que estaríamos bailando y cantando en algún escenario probablemente 😄
