Today I want to talk about one of the most impactful anime series of the last decade: Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin). It's a show that gripped millions worldwide, and I'm one of them.
The Good: The First Two Seasons Are Incredible
I have to say it: the first two seasons are absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere, the mystery, the action, the emotional weight—everything is top-notch. The concept of humanity living behind walls, terrified of giant humanoid creatures, is terrifying and brilliant. The animation, the soundtrack, the pacing... it all comes together to create an unforgettable experience. I was completely hooked.
What I Expected vs. What We Got
Honestly, I thought the series would be much longer. With such a rich world and so many mysteries, I expected more seasons to explore everything. But the story moved faster than I anticipated, and before I knew it, it was over.
The Ending: Not What I Hoped For
Here's where I have to be honest: I didn't like the ending. I know many fans feel the same, and others disagree. But for me, it felt rushed and unsatisfying. I would have preferred a different outcome.
Eren Yeager, the protagonist, went through an incredible transformation. From a hot-headed kid to a complex, tragic figure. But the way his story concluded... it didn't sit right with me. He didn't deserve to end like that.
Final Thoughts
Despite my feelings about the ending, Attack on Titan is still a tremendous series. It changed the anime landscape, sparked endless debates, and left a mark on everyone who watched it. It's a masterpiece in many ways—just with a final chapter that didn't land for me.
