[Music] A lively and unique piece, but one that only appeared once... "Little Child" - 1963

Today I'm sharing one of the many songs they gave us during their almost eight-year career, and for me, it's one of their most cheerful and upbeat. It features quite a few instruments, and they were just starting out in music, which demonstrates to me and the whole world the skills and talent these unforgettable long-haired musicians possessed. This song was one of the first they recorded, dating back to around mid-June 1963, and it's included on their second LP, which they released at the end of that year. I'm referring to the song "Little Child."

I find it very strange that this song only appears on that album, and I've noticed for ages that they never performed it live. From their discography, I know that there are only three versions of the song, and they selected take 2 for the album. Otherwise, it doesn't appear on any later compilations, nor, as I mentioned before, in live performances or concerts. Who knows why they didn't promote it more? It's a shame because it's a song with many musical changes, even though it's very short, only one minute and 45 seconds.

I love this song because from the very first note of John Lennon's masterful harmonica playing, the rhythm takes over our bodies, and at the same time, he's the one singing, and it only fades away at the very end. Paul McCartney's legendary bass, this time, magically blends with a piano, also played by Paul.

It adds a touch of flavor to the song... Continuing with the arrangement, George Harrison plays his usual rhythm guitar, and the good guy Ringo Starr completes the whole track.

Obviously, it brings back a lot of memories from when I was a kid, because when I was in my fourth year of high school, back in 1989, I had a classmate—well, several, actually—but this one in particular had rock-loving parents and they had quite a few records by legendary bands, including several Beatles albums. I had been listening to The Beatles for a long time, and when I found out about them, I immediately said, "You have to record those records for me." I talked to my parents, and they bought me the cassettes. I remember they even chipped in some money to pay my friend, and everyone was happy. I also remember, with a touch of nostalgia and a touch of humor, that some of the records had sound glitches. They would play fast and then smooth out, which confused me a bit because some songs sounded strange. Well, in that batch of songs and records was the album "With The Beatles," their second studio album, which included this song that I'm sharing with you today with much love and emotion. I can tell you that this song, like many of their songs, was recorded at the legendary and unforgettable EMI Studios in London, and I also know that George Martin was the producer.
