I am interested in robots. I have always been since I was a youngin. however, I am NOT about to drop $30k or more on some robot. The humanoid robots being made and sold are, in my opinion, all poor imitations of real humans and not worth the money. (except the atlas bot, I do like that one)
In my opinion, robots should look like robots and not try to be humanoid at all. I would much rather have R2D2 vs a tesla optimus bot. arms would be very useful, tho. but legs? as in, why do they need to be human like legs with feet and all? can a human run like a car? NO. can a human move across terrain like a tank? NO.
and the cost. we're talking easily an extra few thousand bucks for some slow moving, possible falls waiting to happen legs that serve no real function (dancing excluded) that wheels or tank treads could not. IMO, this guy is still the bot that I'd want..
