[Movie] The Lovely Bones:The view from above☁️(2009) [ENG/ESP]🎬

The film centers on Susie Salmon, a 14-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Pennsylvania in the 1970s. Susie has the typical dreams of any teenager—to be with her family—along with a great passion for photography. However, her life is tragically cut short when she is lured into an underground trap and murdered by a man.

After her death, Susie finds herself trapped in a spiritual realm—a place that is neither Earth nor heaven; one might describe it as a kind of limbo. It is a surreal and beautiful, yet profoundly lonely, existence. Susie remains there because her soul refuses to depart, as she watches her family struggle to cope with their loss. While her father, Jack, does everything in his power to track down the person responsible, Susie strives to secure justice and exact revenge—hoping to help her loved ones heal and move forward—but the path ahead is far from easy.

Strengths (Pros) / Puntos Fuertes (Pros)

• Visual Direction: Peter Jackson achieves a striking contrast between the bleak reality on Earth and the colorful, fantastical nature of the spirit world.

• Outstanding Performances: Saoirse Ronan’s performance as Susie shines; despite her young age, she did a truly impressive job—in fact, I would rate the entire cast’s performance as excellent.

The Lovely Bones is a quite sad film; from the first time I watched it, it struck me as a real emotional rollercoaster. It is tragic, yet it possesses a very distinct visual beauty that leaves a profound impression in many ways. It is certainly not easy to digest, given the gravity of its subject matter, but it is a memorable experience that is well worth watching.
