I see true rest in a very different way and it goes this way. First, when I want to rest I want to look for a quiet place that I can lay my head and sleep. Other ways that I can rest maybe about a very heavy day is to find a movie that will take my mind off many of these things that are happening all around me.

Vacation is not on the menu presently. I don't need to go somewhere crowded that is exciting. In fact, I'm not a party animal.
All I just want is somewhere quiet. No loud noise, phone calls, notification, traffic, deadlines, beeping your phone or messages if I have finished this particular project or not. I don't want that.
I want a quiet life and that's enough for a rest. I do spend a lot of time thinking about work, technology, AI, ideas, what I should be doing, what I shouldn't, what should come next. Sometimes I have to close my laptop and lie down somewhere so that my brain can just calm down and do the work.
Even if I have a drink beside me, I still want to be productive. The funny thing is that I don't really get that kind of rest often. So these days I use movies a lot.
Movies help me to relax and it does it in the way that I want it to be. I don't want to be too tired. I don't want to be focused in the movie to the point that I don't have to think of any other thing that gives me headache.
So movie is one of my major way of getting a rest in a noisy world. Another one is sleep. Take a very cold shower and hit the bed then go to sleep.
