For the three children, the challenge was becoming increasingly difficult; every decision made and every piece of information provided altered the course of events. Charlie stood motionless, staring at the screen and trying to grasp every word—a single poor decision could ruin everything. Meanwhile, Lucas and Sofia, separated by a massive glass wall, kept shouting, "Charlie, you can't believe everything they say!" They repeated this over and over as time ticked away in that place.
Before Charlie could respond, a new recording appeared on one of the computers—a recording from when Charlie was a child, showing him sitting across from the man with the silver emblem. The only question the little boy asked was, "What will happen if, one day, I find out who I was before?"—a question that could have shed light on everything. Back then, all Charlie cared about was playing the violin and enjoying life’s happy moments. The man, however, replied, "Then you will have to remember why you had to disappear"—a response that frightened Charlie, as he had never wanted to disappear; he had only ever wanted to move forward.
¡Yo no quería hacerlo!
As he continued watching the video, Lucas began pounding on the glass and said something entirely new: "Charlie, listen to me! I didn't want to do it! They forced me to help you forget!" Charlie began to doubt Lucas, as he should have disclosed everything from the very beginning. Lucas lowered his gaze and continued, "Because that night, you discovered what they were actually doing to the children." Time was running out, however; after the video ended and the melody faded, a voice was heard—it was Charlie’s mother, who said, "Son, I never told you the truth. You were never a participant in this project; you were their first experiment." With that revelation, everything changed. The lights then went out, and a final message appeared: "PHASE TWO: IDENTITY RECOVERED – WARNING: THE REAL CHARLIE IS AWAKENING." At that moment, a child began to laugh—in the exact same voice as Charlie’s.
