Afflictions and illnesses can be very interesting and often misunderstood things.
That said, it's not so interesting when you are afflicted by something that you truly can't explain to somebody else (and hope they will understand) unless they have actually suffered from the same thing, themselves.

That tends to hold particularly true for things like autoimmune diseases and mental health issues.
For example, a lot of people think they know what it means "to be depressed" because they've seen it in movies or maybe they had a cousin who was depressed for a while, but unless you've actually experienced it first hand, yourself, you really have no way of knowing what it feels like to sit deep down inside a black hole in your life.
Mrs. Denmarkguy has an autoimmune condition, and she is constantly being sent well-meaning advice and health tips from people who show themselves to clearly have no idea what they are talking about. Five minutes with Google does not make you a medical expert!
In some ways, it can work in reverse, as well.

I remember that there was a period during my 20s and 30s where are a number of my friends felt that I was depressed and I "needed treatment." The problem seemed to be that I was not outwardly cheerful and enthusiastic about things in the same way as others.
To be honest, though, I have never been (outwardly) particularly cheerful and demonstratively optimistic about anything. It just doesn't suit my personality!
Just in service of keeping the peace I did actually go to a therapist to examine the possibility of whether I was depressed and the verdict we gradually arrived at was that I wasn't really depressed in the traditional sense I was "mildly dysthymic" from nature's side.
Something else people often struggle to understand (and I actually understand poorly about myself) is my tendency to randomly and seemingly arbitrarily fall asleep. For example, I'll be sitting at my desk reading something on the screen and all of a sudden 3-4 minutes will have passed without my even being aware except for the fact that I had a dream for a moment.

One of the times and places I often notice this particular afflictionred x ais if I get to some point in what I'm doing during my daily work, and I have to download some app that takes maybe 20 to 30 seconds to make it to my computer.
I'll rest my head on my hands and briefly close my eyes and in that time I sometimes have a dream that feels like I was asleep for three or four hours but of course I just closed my eyes for 10-15 seconds.
Human bodies can be strange and mysterious things sometimes!
Naturally, I get lots of "good advice" that's not helpful.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great remainder of your week!
