Over the past few weeks, I've been developing a musical instrument for my conlang and worldbuilding project, Nivukti. This will be used by my new deer-like character.
After a few sketches, and refinements, the instrument has finally reached a design I'm genuinely happy with. My idea is a naturally shed antler forms the neck of the musical instrument. The body is carved from a single piece of petrified wood (or ancient bone), hollowed into a deep resonance chamber.

A thin forged Star-Iron plate covers the front of the chamber, giving the instrument its unique voice.
It is carried by nomadic caravans that cross frozen lands in search of fallen stars.
There is just one element I'm still not completely satisfied with...
The Star-Iron Resonance Plate I'm looking for fresh ideas for the design of the metal plate only. Not the entire instrument. Just the plate.
What I'm looking for
1.) It should look forged 2.) elegant without being ornamental 3.) ancient and practical 4.) believable as a functional musical component 5.) inspired by nature, frost, wind, stone, stars, or meteoric metal—not by existing real-world instrument designs
