Over the rainbow bridge - Marley: 09th of August 2012 - 21st of November 2025

Already 6 weeks ago, Marley left us

Marley RIP.jpg

It took me a while before I could inform you that Marley left us on the 21st of November 2025. We are still deeply saddened, and tears come to our eyes with this loss.

Marley had problems with his joints for some time already. But with the right medication, he could still enjoy life, even though the daily walks got shorter, he was still a happy dog.

On the morning walk of November 21, 2025, he stopped walking due to his pain. He simply could not walk anymore. That happened earlier also, but until that morning, he recovered within a few minutes again. Not so on 21.11.2025. After I carried my 32kg boy home, he did not eat or drink. I lifted him onto the sofa, and he lay there with a pain-contorted face. He wouldn't even accept treats or some water, which I offered him.

We waited until the afternoon, but things did not get better. It was Friday, and at 3 PM, we called the vet. Two hours later, Marley had crossed the rainbow bridge.

We will never forget you, Marley!!! Here some photos

Marley, only 4 months old, after visiting the vet

You can see he is shaved on his right leg. He didn't tolerate the vaccination well. The first time, we feared for his life. Luckily, it was also the last time until November 21, 2025.

Dear Marley, rest in peace, and thank you so much for every single day you shared with us. 4852 days sounds like a lot, but for us it felt like the blink of an eye.

I saw this post just today. I'm so sorry I didn't see it when you posted it. I know exactly how it feels to lose a dog or a cat, even a turtle (even though they're less expressive, that doesn't make them any less loving).

The important thing about having Marley in your life, about him being part of your family, is the time you shared together and how happy you were.

I'm so glad he was able to cross the rainbow bridge at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

    I know you'll never forget Marley, @pundito.

    Hugs!
