It's been a choppy week for me, so I didn't get my daily 10K posts in during my school work week. Over 30K steps slipped by on Wednesday and Thursday. Not much fanfare. Wednesday my middle school soccer team drew another game 1-1, although we were a bit unfortunate to give away the win with a late goal scored on an outrageous effort that tucked in just under the bar. Unsavable for these lads.
Then on Thursday, I got to leave work right at 4pm without any soccer duties and it felt great to get home before the sun set. But I had a quick train ride up to the suburbs to borrow my mom's car for the weekend before I was off the hook and free to unwind.
Friday was the real magic. At school, we had our Hispanic Heritage Showcase & Feast. First our students read poetry, performed dances, did model walks, and sang songs showcasing the diverse Hispanic cultures that are represented in our student body, including Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Mexico to name a few.
Then we feasted on roast chicken, pernil, platanos, and rice & beans. It was a proper way to close out the month-long celebration and a full week of school. Then at 7pm, I drove my partner up to Sleepy Hallow for the Great Pumpkin Blaze, a Halloween themed light show made entirely of pumpkins. Check out the sweet footage!!

I really shouldn't have been such a grump about the pumpkin trip. Besides all the driving and commuting, it was really a lot of fun. Just look at all the cool pics and all my steps. Plus my girl likes me again! Wins everywhere!
