I’m thrilled to share with you all that the release of my new book Walking With the Muse: A Collection of Short Stories is scheduled for September 4!
After months of curating the stories, making revisions, ferreting out typos, and collaborating with artist/book designer Lubosh Cech on the book’s overall design, the publication date is nearly here.
I’m extremely proud of how this book turned out. I’ve had an advance copy on my desk for the past few days and I can’t stop staring at it. This must be a good sign, right?
This release date marks the moment the book is truly born and heads into the hands of anyone who wants to pick it up. Walking With the Muse is the result of three decades of ideas coming to me in the middle of the night and me scrambling to get them down, stubborn and lovable characters that have become like old friends, and the hope that someone else will feel in the stories what I felt while writing them.
The book will land just in time for a quick weekend read on those last few warm days of summer or something you can ration out in bite-sized bits and linger over.
This year, for me, September 4 is more than a date on the calendar. It’s an exhilarating (and slightly nerve-wrecking) day when my work becomes real for other people.

Orders will begin on Amazon just after the clock strikes twelve at midnight on September 4th. Library requests, sharing the posts about the book across Hive and other social media sites, and simply telling a friend all go a long way in helping Walking With the Muse find its audience.
