Keep Going

Keep Going.jpeg

You really don’t ever forget or get over it. Each of us is like a ball of yarn that gathers everything — the joys and hurts, praise and harsh words, triumphs and sins, losses and wins.

People can be complicated, difficult to understand. You’ll discover that, often, you’re considered an afterthought by those you’ve cared for deeply but you continue to love anyway because the alternative is inconceivable. A clear conscience is life’s greatest fortune.

Your only true objective is to understand yourself. The smiles, they won’t always come easily, some days might feel downright impossible but when you decide refuse to be a victim, you’ll learn and grow to realize life is precious
despite the cold void of darkness, the only antidote is patience and forgiveness.

Every one of us is imperfect, and so is the world, especially the world, that’s important to remember.

Time continues to tick away, the Earth keeps turning, calendar keep changing and you find a way to hoist your bundle of blessings and burdens right there onto your back, and you carry them. You’ll get stronger with every step.

There are unspoken agendas, there will be unfairness, there is evil, yes, but there is also a wellspring of goodness, even if only caught in cursory glimpses, there’s so much to be curious about, no shortage of things to feel completely in awe of, so much kindness, so many small miracles. Focus on that and more of it will come your way.

The world arrives through any lens we choose to bring to our consciousness.
It will not always make the load feel lighter. It will, some days, allow you to shift the weight just enough to make it bearable and keep going.
So keep going.

EVW

All for now. Make this a wonderful day.

The weight of things. Some people carry heavier burdens than others, but the idea is to keep moving forward; even if we pause to adjust those loads or set some of them down, we have to keep going. Hugs, my friend.

To be strong, it is true one has to pass through all the phases of life. Because at the end strive definitely succeeds, just a bit of confidence and loads of patience required.

This, I have come to believe, is one of the foundational principles of happiness. If we are always wondering if we are loving too much, then we are missing the point of love. We don't love so that we get a return on it. It is a gift to love. There is no way to measure how we are loved, and the act of measuring dilutes the experience of love.

I love my husband, my kids, my brothers and sisters and so many people who are not here anymore. Am I not lucky to be able to love? I hope they love me, but what a wasted exercise to worry about whether they do to the same degree.

Your poem hits a lot of points that resonate.

This makes me think of the ball of yarn that my mother in law keeps in one of her drawers. Our one and a half year old niece found it and next thing you know it is intertwined all over the furniture of the living room. Just all those connections and paths.

This poem captures my mindset to a T, but these two (reproduced out of order) are especially salient to me:

there’s so much to be curious about, no shortage of things to feel completely in awe of, so much kindness, so many small miracles. Focus on that and more of it will come your way.

    refuse to be a victim

I hope I don't overstep with a grammatical consideration. I believe that "each" and "every one" are singular nouns and need singular verbs to go with them.

Every one of us are imperfect

every one of us is imperfect seems better to me.

    Or:

Each of us are like a ball of yarn

Each of us is like a ball of yarn works for me.
