Canciones Medicina: Medley (En Espiral, Niño Salvaje, Pájaro Viejo) / Medicine Songs Medley (In a Spiral, Wild Child, Old Bird)

Versión en Español

¡Hola, comunidad!

English Version

Hello community! Today I am sharing a video of myself singing a medley of various medicine songs that I have learned during my travels. These have been great for building a repertoire for busking on the streets when I travel, because when you sing every day, you need to find lyrics that give you strength and call in positive energies. This way, you don't just sing for money, but also to inspire yourself and those who listen.

At the beginning of my journey, I used to ask people what songs they would like me to learn, but as time went on, I stopped asking because almost all the music recommended to me was always based on the same theme: playing the victim over an unrequited love. I observed a pattern in society where music is used as a sort of hypnosis with two main currents: one that invites lust and irresponsible relationships, and another that encourages feeling sad because a relationship didn't work out and drinking alcohol to forget it. In reality, it is all hidden advertising paid to radio stations to broadcast 24/7.

After observing this for a long time, I began to realize the true value of medicine songs, since their lyrics help us remember the simple, the unpretentious, and the innocent. This allows us to return to our essence, which gets corrupted the more we are exposed to these mental programming systems.

I am not entirely sure who the authors of each of these songs are; there are different versions on the internet, but they are very common to hear in the medicine and ancestral circles where I learned them. In this video, there are three songs brought together as if they were a single track: "En Espiral Hacia el Centro" (In a Spiral Toward the Center), "Niño Salvaje" (Wild Child), and "Pájaro Viejo" (Old Bird).

I hope you enjoy it, leave a comment, and if you like this kind of music, feel free to share the songs you know as well.
