We are in the rainy season and yesterday morning it was coming down lightly when I woke up. It continued until early afternoon when it finally stopped and bits of sunshine showed.
My job for the day was in the valley at a client's remodel of their home they purchased early this year. The tiny 4x4ft bathroom walls had been ripped out and this is the plan for the new bathroom walls. It was killer for me as I had a plan and measurements to work off thanks to her contractor friend. I did not build the doorways yet but got the main walls and closet space framed in.
I was able to cut most of the boards then assemble the walls in the room. The flooring had been cut so I was able to lay the base board in against the cuts.
The closet is small, only 24x26 inches but will still be a closet. I had to finagle the left wall into place as there wasn't enough space in the room to put it together so I did that in the dining room which had enough space available.
The 2x6 wall is the shower end and the left side gap will be where the vent pipe will move to and the center will be for the shower plumbing/shower head. I tacked it down in place but not to the back wall as I was not sure if the sheetrock behind it would be getting removed. Likely it will stay in place and then hardy backer put in over it.
Once the bathroom framing was done I cut all the pieces for the basement wall framing. It is 15 feet wide so I had to join the base board. I will need to add a couple concrete anchors to hold the base against the bottom of the wall as the wall is not perfectly flat.
Last thing for the day was to put up the sheet rock on the bedroom side of the bathroom wall. It went in pretty well aside from the ceiling not being level which required some cutting and slight forcing. All in all it was a solid day of work and my client is SUPER happy with what I was able to get done in 5 hours.
More rain today, will get the boys to school soon, then head up to a client's to put up some boxes into her shed. I have to get potatoes weighed and then meet for the sale mid morning. Early afternoon we have R's Veteran's day concert we will go to. Then later I take R to his classmate's house for a birthday sleepover which works out well as tomorrow is R's birthday.
