Synopsis :
Sally and Gillian were still very young when their father died suddenly. Some say it is a curse that has befallen the Owens family. Their mother died of a broken heart over the loss of her love.
The two little girls were entrusted to their aunts, who taught them magic, as befits good witches.
In the village and at school, people insult and shun the witches, but that won’t stop the Owens family from staying in their family home.

Sally tentera de se prémunir de la malédiction en inventant son homme idéal qui ne peut exister. Ainsi, elle ne tombera pas amoureuse et son mari ne pourra pas mourir subitement.
Gillian est plutôt du genre à profiter de la vie, sans s'attacher.
L'une ne voudra pas que ses enfants apprennent la magie, parce que ça peut être dangereux. L'autre utilisera ses connaissances en herboristerie pour manipuler ses petits-amis.

This film is very old, but as the sequel is coming out in cinemas, it was about time I watched this first instalment.
It’s clearly a film for (young) teenagers, but it was entertaining and it gave us a chance to see how Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman have aged since then.
Ce film est très vieux, mais comme la suite sort au cinéma, il était temps que je regarde cette première partie.
C'est clairement un film pour (jeunes) adolescents, mais c'était divertissant et cela nous a permis de voir que Sandra Bullock et Nicole Kidman ont pris de l'âge depuis lors.
