Life is Strange: Reunion – SAVE SAFI OR NOT? Mission Walkthrough (Gameplay Part 20)

Hello, hello! How is everyone doing?

Today's episode is going to bring what the Life is Strange series of games got us used to, which is lots of tension, unexpected twists and emotion, while we are 3 videos away from finding out how this story ends and whether I got a good ending or not.

This is a bit of a longer video than the one I shared in my previous post, but that's because we get two perspectives shared at the same time from Chloe and Max, while still being needed to find out whether it was right to condemn Vinh as a possible fire starter from the side of Max's list of suspects.

But before getting there, the game starts with Chloe and Moses spending time on the rooftop, which seems like a chill moment, Chloe almost feeling like she did everything she could to get involved in this story and let things go with the flow, without further plans since the fire was about to happen that night, if it couldn't be stopped.

What interrupts the overall relaxing atmosphere is when Chloe spots Max from the balcony, yet a thing that triggered a red flag since they weren't supposed to meet just yet, knowing that Max is meant to confront her accusation on Vinh.

Either way, she decides to follow Max, as she seemed quite invested in entering the building, but which obviously leads to a trap for Chloe, since it was Safi's power to impersonate a different person once again.

Sadly, this turned out to be a pretty emotional and hard to watch confrontation if you ask me, with lots of deep dialogues and conversation choices to pick from where they all felt so wrong, but which weighted a lot on whether Chloe could stop Safi from getting a bullet or not, yet a part of the game's story that kept popping up here and there along the game by now.

I'd lie by saying that I managed to save Safi, which I think we can all agree that she wasn't the best person either, but I would have been happier to manage to save everyone in this game, so I still felt a bit regretful for not figuring out what the right dialogue options could be.

At the same time, Max gets to confront Vinh, which seemed like the least dangerous person from the list, but I still decided to go with him, which turned out to also be the best choice since, otherwise, he would create a chemical explosion at the Abraxas House and also make him lose his life in this process. Eventually, that fire would have spread to Caledon University.

The biggest surprise, though, is at the end of my playthrough, where you will notice that even if I made the right choices from Max and Chloe's sides on who to accuse from the suspects list, the fire will still happen, being caused by Safi's cigarette, which she drops in a trash bin.

Conclusions? The fire couldn't be prevented, and whatever you would have picked, it would make it impossible to be stopped, which sort of makes sense since the whole game's story was created around it. It's just how aggressive or easy the fire was going to take place and how much you could get into it to save people. But we'll find out about that in the next video and post!
