- ¿Cómo se puede crear una campaña de la página GoFundMe.com desde Venezuela?
Esta es una buena pregunta, porque si alguien quisiera hacer una campaña directamente en Venezuela no es posible. Ya que para este país no está permitido crearlas. Podemos decir que solamente se pueden crear en los siguientes países; Alemania, Australia, Austria, Bélgica, Canadá, Dinamarca, España, Estados Unidos, Finlandia, Francia, Irlanda, Italia, Luxemburgo, México, Noruega, Países Bajos, Portugal, Reino Unido, Suecia, Suiza; es decir, solo en 20 países se les tiene permitido crear estas campañas.
En mi caso personal me hacía la pregunta ¿Cómo hacen?, porque si revisan podemos notar que hay campañas de personas que viven en Venezuela. Entonces al final se puede hacer, sí, pero no en Venezuela y ningún país que no este permitido.
Les contaré en base a mi experiencia como se ha hecho para crear una campaña referente solicitud de ayuda ¡Urgente! para comprar mi tratamiento en Venezuela.
- ¿Qué se puede hacer para crear la campaña desde un país no permitido?
Simple, Se debe crear en algunos de los países permitidos, es decir, tienes que solicitar ayuda de algún familiar o alguien quien le tengas extrema confianza, para que te haga el favor y cree dicha solicitud.
En mi caso He solicitado ayuda de un familiar que se encentra en España. Pero prácticamente ha sido valida en una segunda vez, cuando decidí reactivarla.
La desventaja, por lo menos acá en Venezuela sería que recibirán EUROS, ya que fue creada en España, Lamentablemente en Venezuela estamos más familiarizados con el dólar, espero a futuro crear una en dólares creo que pudiera ser mas fácil. (Si ha habido personas que me comentaron que no donaron porque tenían dólares).
- ¿Qué sucedió en mi caso?
La primera vez, mi prima de España creó la campaña, pero la misma fue cerrada porque notaron que la ayuda no era para ella, por lo que la cerraron, y así se quedó por 3 años. (Gracias a DIOS logré resolver con lo que teníamos disponibles acá en Venezuela para ese momento).
La segunda vez, debido a mi situación actual de salud, como lo he comentado en Publicaciones anteriores, Necesito aplicarme un nuevo tratamiento, pero se me es algo costoso. Además me he sentido mal por lo que decidí intentarlo nuevamente, Contacté a mi prima para intentan re activar la campaña En GoFundMe, fue necesario contactar al soporte técnico, amablemente comentaron que una de las razones que fue cerrada la campaña, era porque no iba dirigida a quien había abierto el caso, pero hicieron saber que necesitaban saber como me iba a llegar el dinero. Se procedió a responder todo lo que solicitaban o iban pidiendo en cuanto a mi documentación de identificación e informes médicos. Luego de terminar con todo el chequeo que realizó la plataforma y aclarar todas las dudas, nos indicaron que el caso fue reabierto. Fue cuando se actualizó la nueva necesidad (Acá nos entró la duda si editar el contenido, o crear una nueva campaña), Se editó con lo que requiero actualmente agregando texto, imágenes, y un nuevo video donde hago un resumen del caso. Y se actualizó todo, quedando como lo resultado lo siguiente:
Eliminaron una imagen del PET-CT. No afecta el contenido. De todas formas todo se explica en el vídeo.
- Contenido de la Campaña
Tiene dos partes, una escrita y un video (subido desde YouTube "Clic para ver") (está en español con subtítulos en ingles). Puedo decir, que hice un Mega Resumen de toda la travesía que he pasado durante estos 3 años que llevo combatiendo contra el cáncer, que aún no ha terminado y ha sido muy fuerte con altas y bajas. Básicamente menciono que en estos 3 años he pasado por distintos tratamientos, Quimioterapia, Radio terapia e inmunoterapia. Y en la actualidad el tratamiento me hizo resistencia, y es necesario comenzar con otra inmunoterapia, pero ha sido bastante difícil conseguirla, no hay a nivel publico, solo en una farmacia privada llamada BADAN, y es muy cara.
Me despido, Espero que lo contado sirva de ayuda, para alguien que necesite esta información. Me gustaría aprovechar la oportunidad para solicitarles una ayuda muy grande, el compartir esta publicación en HIVE, al igual que la campaña GoFundMe compartan por sus redes sociales, la difusión será una gran ayuda. - How can you create a GoFundMe.com campaign from Venezuela?
This is a good question, because if someone wanted to launch a campaign directly from Venezuela, it wouldn't be possible, as creating them is not allowed for this country. - What can be done to create a campaign from a non-permitted country?
It's simple. It must be created in one of the permitted countries. In other words, you have to ask for help from a family member or someone you trust completely so they can do you the favor and create the request. In my case, I asked for help from a family member who is in Spain. However, it practically became valid the second time around, when I decided to reactivate it.
The disadvantage, at least here in Venezuela, would be that you will receive Euros, since it was created in Spain. Unfortunately, in Venezuela, we are more familiar with the dollar, so I hope to create one in dollars in the future—I think it might be easier. (Some people did comment to me that they didn't donate because they had dollars).
- What happened in my case?
The first time, my cousin in Spain created the campaign, but it was closed because they noticed the help wasn't for her, so they shut it down, and it stayed that way for 3 years. (Thank GOD, I managed to get by with what we had available here in Venezuela at that time).
The second time, due to my current health situation—as I have mentioned in previous posts—I need to start a new treatment, but it is quite expensive for me. Also, I haven't been feeling well, so I decided to try again.
I contacted my cousin to try to reactivate the campaign on GoFundMe. It was necessary to contact technical support, and they kindly explained that one of the reasons the campaign was closed was because it wasn't directed at the person who had opened the case. However, they let us know that they needed to know how the money would reach me. We proceeded to answer everything they requested or asked for regarding my identification documentation and medical reports. After completing the full review conducted by the platform and clearing up all doubts, they informed us that the case had been reopened.
That was when the new need was updated (at this point, we had doubts about whether to edit the content or create a new campaign). We edited it with what I currently require, adding text, images, and a new video where I summarize the case. Everything was updated, resulting in the following:
They removed an image of the PET-CT, but it doesn't affect the content. Either way, everything is explained in the video.
- Campaign Content:
It has two parts: a written section and a video (uploaded from YouTube "Watch Here") (it is in Spanish with English subtitles). I can say that I made a "Mega Summary" of the entire journey I've been through during these 3 years that I've been fighting cancer, which hasn't ended yet and has been very tough, with its ups and downs.
Basically, I mention that during these 3 years I have gone through different treatments: chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. Currently, the treatment became resistant, and it is necessary to start another immunotherapy, but it has been quite difficult to get. It is not available in the public system, only at a private pharmacy called BADAN, and it is very expensive.
