Apure, Aragua, and Guárico Making Music Together.

The people in the video from left to right are Diego Belisario (Guárico; Cuatro), David Jiménez (Apure; Maracas and Vocals) - me, Luis Ramírez (Aragua; Vocals), Daniel Jiménez (Apure; Bandola) & Daniel Pellarini (Apure; Mandolin). Honestly, I think all of them are geniuses. We only rehearsed this for 15 minutes before recording; it amazes me that these guys can put something together so quickly and with such high quality. Personally, I couldn't do something like that—to record like this, I need at least a few hours of advance preparation.

Chabuco - Camino

Among those songs I deeply identify with, this gem by the artist Chabuco—to be completely honest—is the first song I've ever heard by this Colombian singer-songwriter. I relate to it because I come from a town called Santa Cruz, located 30 minutes from Maracay, and I go through life fighting for my dreams. I watched an interview with this Colombian singer, and he says things I have experienced firsthand: rejection, doubt, the desire to sell out just to "fit in"... It's the struggle for cultural roots. There is nothing braver than staying true to our beliefs. A teacher always used to tell me: "Making music is an act of faith."
