The first thing I noticed, even though both types of plants are there, was that the corn plants were almost entirely removed due to the severe drought we've been experiencing for several months now. Things were further complicated because he lives alone and had to leave for a few days to visit his family (they live in another state). Since he didn't leave anyone in charge of watering, the results are clear in the photos I'm sharing. You can also see that there's a large amount of weeds, which worsened the situation. That's why he decided to leave it like this for the time being, trying to recover the land so he can try again later.
With the cassava plants, it wasn't just the drought that hurt him; he also didn't harvest them when he left on his trip. He waited until he returned, but unfortunately, he got a very unpleasant surprise. Taking advantage of his absence, some thieves decided to harvest them for him. You can imagine his disappointment when he saw what had happened to his plants. He was so disappointed that he decided not to plant any more of those varieties. He's only waiting to harvest the remaining ones before abandoning them. Even though the stakes are still there, his intention and desire are gone.
The only plants that survived were the squash plants, but of course, they haven't grown much in this time either. Although he's been watering them since he got back from his trip, they've recovered a little, though very slowly compared to how they should be developing.
