Hello, fellow movie buffs! It’s review week—or at least I hope I can pull it off. For day two, I’m sharing my thoughts on this film. I had read a review of a movie here and thought this was the one, but it turned out not to be. I watched it anyway, and well... it wasn't what I expected; I really should have looked for the other one.
Hola, mis amigos cinefilos, semana de reseñas, o eso espero, poder lograrlo, en este segundo día les traigo mi opinión sobre esta película, la cual había leído una reseña compartida por aquí y pensé que era está la película, pero resultó que no, de igual manera la vi y bueno no era lo esperaba, mejor hubiera buscado la otra.

Cable Mortal
When a scientist has her revolutionary pharmaceutical discovery stolen and her colleague murdered, she must confront her fear of heights to escape attackers seeking the final code needed to unlock the discovery—with an aerial walkway serving as her only means of escape. To flee her pursuers, she must summon the courage to protect the world-changing scientific breakthrough—and herself—before it is too late.
The story opens with a scene fraught with danger and suspense, showing Amy suspended on an aerial line, at risk of falling alongside her colleague. While the beginning is compelling and thrilling, the narrative then flashes back to reveal who she is and the events that led her to that precarious situation.
Amy is a brilliant woman, yet she suffers from a compulsive obsession: she cannot touch anything with her hands for fear of infection. However, this was not always the case; the condition stemmed from the death of her mother, who had cancer but ultimately died from an infection of unknown origin.
This had a profound impact on Amy, leading to the obsession in question; nevertheless, as I mentioned, she was a brilliant woman who dedicated herself to finding a cure for cancer. After arduous work, she appeared to have succeeded—but she hadn't counted on the fact that not everyone would welcome her discovery.
But who stands to lose if a cure for diseases is found? Pharmaceutical companies, obviously; they are the primary beneficiaries when someone falls ill and we have to turn to their medications and drugs. It is a massive business for them—one they cannot afford to lose.
The film has an interesting plot; however, the scenes leave much to be desired. To me, the editing was far too obvious—the mountains, the characters supposedly standing at the very peak—that was what I didn't like; the effects looked very unrealistic
Cuando le roban a una científica su revolucionario descubrimiento farmacéutico y asesinan a su compañero, debe enfrentar su miedo a las alturas para escapar de unos atacantes que desean el código final para descifrar dicho descubrimiento, siendo esta la única vía de salvación, una pasarela aérea. Para huir de sus perseguidores, tendrá que reunir valor para proteger el descubrimiento científico que cambiará el mundo, y a sí misma, antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
Una historia que comienza con una escena llena de peligro y emoción, veremos cómo Amy queda colgada en esta línea aérea, expuesta a caer junto con su compañera, el inicio suena atractivo y como dije emocionante, pero luego nos vamos hacia atrás, para entender quién es ella y que la llevo a terminar en ese punto.
Amy resultó ser una mujer muy brillante, pero sufría de una obsesión compulsiva, no podía tocar nada con sus manos, porque creía que se podía infectar, sin embargo ella no era así, todo esto surgió a partir de la muerte de su madre, la cuál tenía una enfermedad, sufría de cáncer, pero esto no fue lo que la mató, sino una infección que produjo sin saber de dónde.
Esto causo en Amy un gran impacto, lo que la llevo a generar dicha obsesión; aún así como mencioné era una mujer brillante y se dedicó a buscar la cura del cáncer, y luego de un arduo trabajo pareció haberlo conseguido, lo que no contaba ella es que no a muchos les iba a gustar su descubrimiento.
Pero a quienes no les conviene que se encuentre la cura de las enfermedades, a los farmacéuticos obviamente, ellos son los principales beneficiarios cuando una persona se enferma, debemos acudir a sus medicamentos, sus fármacos, entonces esto es un gran negocio para ellos que no pueden darse el lujo de perder.
La película tiene una trama interesante, sin embargo las escenas dejan mucho que desear, para mí fueron demasiadas evidentes el montaje, las montañas, ellos allí supuestamente en lo más alto, eso fue lo que no me gustó, los efectos fueron muy irreales.
As I mentioned before, the plot and the way the subject matter was handled could have been better; they had a good story there but failed to execute it properly. The fake-looking scenes didn't help matters either—this movie definitely isn't worth a rewatch. Even the lead actress lacked emotion; I couldn't empathize with her. She lost her husband and her mother and was in actual danger, yet she showed nothing—she didn't even speak! Haha, that was what stressed me out the most.
But it makes me wonder—regarding the pharmaceutical industry—are they the ones creating these viruses and diseases just so we keep depending on them and their medications? They must bear some responsibility; there’s no doubt about that.
Anyway, don't watch it; it's not worth it. The fake-looking scenes will just disappoint you...
Cómo ya les mencioné, la trama, el enfoque del tema pudo haberse desarrollado mejor, tenían una buena historia allí, pero no supieron ejecutarla, y las escenas falsas, no le ayudan, definitivamente está película no vale la pena volver a verla, e incluso la protagonista le faltó más emoción, no sentí esa empatía con ella, perdió a su esposo, a su madre, se encontraba en peligro y aún así, no mostraba nada, ni siquiera hablaba jajaja eso me estreso más.
Pero me hace preguntar, tocando el tema de los farmacéuticos, son ellos los que generan estos virus y enfermedades, para que sigamos dependiendo de ellos y sus medicamentos, algo de responsabilidad deben tener, de eso no hay duda.
En fin, no la vean, no vale la pena, las escenas falsas los decepcionará...
