Hello everyone. Back in my more active university years, we used to have little conversations about paranormal or mysterious topics, and how sometimes it was interesting to read about them, whether it was legends or those typical audio recordings that told each story. One time, a friend lent me a book that caught my attention with just the cover, and I was also curious about the author. I must say it's the book I've most enjoyed reading, and I still dream of owning a physical copy. So today, since it's come up in conversation, I'll give you my brief opinion on "The Festival of Blasphemy" by Dross Rotzank.

Por allí, en mis años en los que más activa estaba en la universidad, solíamos sacar pequeñas conversaciones sobre temas paranormales o de misterio, así como el tema de que a veces era interesante leer sobre eso, ya fuera en leyendas o esos típicos audios que contaban cada historia, por lo que en una oportunidad un amigo llegó a prestarme un libro que captó mi atención con solo la portada y a su vez algo de curiosidad por el autor de este, y debo decir que ha sido el libro que más he disfrutado leer y que incluso hasta la fecha sueño con tener en físico, por lo que hoy, aprovechando que ha salido como tema de conversación, les daré mi pequeña opinión acerca de "El Festival de la Blasfemia" de Dross Rotzank.
Under the genres of young adult literature, horror, suspense, and dark humor, this novel was published in 2016 by Grupo Planeta. It comprises 152 pages and features a captivating design and artwork by María Fernanda Tricca that is sure to pique the reader's curiosity. The story follows Melchor, a necromancer who, through rituals, sacrifices, and all his other means, seeks a worthy place in Hell after his death. His writings are frequent, but after years of effort and having only managed to acquire a simple house, he is persuaded by a demon to go to Hell itself. He becomes involved in a mission that will test all his beliefs and disbeliefs.
Bajo el género de literatura juvenil, terror, suspenso y humor negro, este se ubicó en el año 2016 bajo la editorial Grupo Planeta, con un total de 152 páginas y un diseño y arte visual muy interesante por arte de María Fernanda Tricca y que abre sin duda la curiosidad. Este nos cuenta la historia de Melchor, un nigromante que busca a través de rituales, sacrificios y todo su haber el llegar a tener un sitio digno en el infierno una vez muera, por lo que sus tratados llegan a ser con regularidad, pero tras tantos años de esfuerzo y solo haber conseguido una simple casa, se lleva de las ideas de un demonio para ir al mismo infierno y termina involucrándose en una misión que pondrá a prueba toda creencia y no creencia que este ha llegado a tener.
This book has a narrative worthy of Dross, one that shocks and catches the reader off guard. However, as you progress, it develops an immersive and entertaining effect, making it enjoyable. The language used in the dialogues might seem strong, but it's more than developed within the narrative of something someone in this world of perdition and darkness might say. It doesn't come across as generic or modulated, but rather as realistic, portraying what it would be like if things were truly this way. I like how the author plays with Menchor's perspective and image, showing him as someone emotionless and determined to achieve his goal, and how, as he confronts the reality of the situation he's getting himself into, this supposed formation and mindset he's held for years begins to crumble.
Este libro tiene una narrativa digna de Dross que impacta y agarra desprevenido a quien lo comienza a leer, pero sin embargo, a medida que se avanza, tiene ese efecto inmersivo y divertido, lo que lo hace disfrutable, y es que bien pudiera verse como fuerte el lenguaje que se emplea en los diálogos; están más que desarrollados dentro de lo que es la narrativa de algo que diría quien está en este mundo de perdición y oscuridad, por lo que no lo hace como algo genérico y modulado, sino incluso algo realista en lo que es el cómo sería si fuera realmente así. Me gusta cómo va jugando con la perspectiva y la imagen de Menchor, de cómo lo vemos como alguien sin emociones y dispuesto a cumplir su objetivo y cómo este, a medida que ve la realidad del asunto en el que se está metiendo, va resquebrajándose esta supuesta formación y mentalidad que ha tenido por años.
This book also features internal artwork, which consists of drawings that help guide us and enhance our appreciation of key expressions and moments. It's not entirely filled with these illustrations, nor are they constant; rather, they're strategically placed to avoid distractions while reading, serving as moments of respite, which I find incredibly cool. As for the design, while simple and lacking in detail, the black and white format perfectly complements the theme and style.
Este libro también tiene arte visual interno, lo cual son unos dibujos que vamos viendo a modo de orientarnos y apreciar más lo que serían expresiones y momentos claves. No está lleno en su totalidad de esto ni están de manera constante, sino que a su vez están puestos de forma estratégica para no distraernos mientras leemos y que sean más bien como momentos de descanso, cosa que se me hace superchévere a mi parecer, y en cuanto a diseño, aunque es simple y sin mucho detalle, al ser en blanco y negro, incluso combina perfectamente con la temática y estilo.
I found this book very enjoyable because it doesn't try to overdo it or create such an elaborate plot that it gets lost or changes direction. On the contrary, it's direct and consistent with its objective, which, in my opinion, is to demonstrate that, no matter how much we claim to know about something, sometimes we're not prepared to see all the real sides. The protagonist understands that playing at something bigger than himself sometimes has consequences and that ambition is full of cause and effect. I feel that's precisely what makes it so good, and, as I said, it's one of those books that, although I have it digitally, I would love to own in physical form. Just as I was allowed to read it when it was first released, I'd love to do the same because it speaks for itself, and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much for reading.
Este libro se me hizo muy disfrutable en el sentido de que no busca exagerar de más o mostrar una trama tan elaborada que se llegue a perder o cambiar el rumbo; por el contrario, llega a ser un directo y constante con lo que es el objetivo y que, a mi parecer, es demostrar que, por más que digamos saber de algo, a veces no estamos preparados para ver todas las caras reales. En sí, el personaje entiende que jugar a algo que es mayor que él a veces trae consecuencias y que la ambición está llena de causa y efecto. Siento que justo es lo que lo hace ser tan bueno y, como reitero, es de esos libros que, aunque tengo en digital, adoraría tener en físico y, así como en su tiempo me permitieron leerlo, hacer lo mismo porque lo bueno es más que decir y esperando que sea de su agrado.
